Rip, I'm giving it an attempt at a download, but it's 33 megs, so it'll take about...all night for me, I'm guessing. :p

Illmatic 03-17-2005 08:28 PM
I also think NCAA us superior to the NBA,

the game is faster, and there are upsets in NCAA, there arent real upsets in the NBA,except the playoffs.
The NBA is a higher quality brand of basketball...there's more defense, players actually know how to run fast breaks, there's more off-ball movement (even though there isn't even all that much in the first place) and unlike in the NCAA, a team can't get to the finals because they got hot from the three point line for five games.
Yea that was a bad way of putting it, something about the NFL just feels that way. Fake, maybe?
It's more polished, but that doesn't make it "fake".

EDIT: lawl, Jimmy

:p.

Random question for all: what is your favorite "snack" food? For me, it's mozzerella sticks or popcorn

That brand of basketball is (or at least was at the time of the last Olympics) waning in quality though, because the emphasis was on stars like Kobe Bryant and other flashy one-man-teams, and so people argued that college basketball and multi-national, non-US basketball was better because it was much stronger on teamwork. And the US basketball team did get owned in the Olympics.

But I could be wrong: they may have changed it since then, I don't like basketball anywhere near as much as baseball.

And how can football be exciting? They stop the bloody game every 30 seconds for five minutes. I really don't like that sport at all.

3074326 03-17-2005 08:35 PM

I like the white fudge Chips Ahoy cookies. Definitely with milk.

Popcorn is also good.

Yea, not fake. Polished is a good way of putting it, and something about that just turns me off from the whole thing.

Snack food?

I've always been a chip guy, myself. Plain or BBQ = so best.

Pretzles.

Or any chips.

Dr. Jake Destructo 03-17-2005 08:38 PM

Hey Ripper, how goes the name change?

We didn't even send our best players to the Olympics. Duncan and LeBron were the only elite players that went, and LeBron was buried on the bench most of the time. And if you think the NBA is waning, you haven't followed it this year. And there is PLENTY of college basketball like the NBA (where teams stand around and watch someone take on the whole team).

I'll take a polished Tom Brady over someone like Chris Rix any day of the weak.

we also didnt have our best players there, shaq, garnett, j-kidd, ray allen or people that are just pure shooters.

Sweet man! How did you get it done, "Cain"

3074326 03-17-2005 08:46 PM

Sorry... maybe it's too subtle of a change. Change your name completely. :)

kombucha: I reposted in "Ask the Mods," and DBJ just happened to be looking around the Site forum and changed it for me. It took like two seconds...

magicbus 03-17-2005 08:48 PM

AH, what do you want to change it to?

3074326 03-17-2005 08:49 PM

I'm not sure.

I've been thinking about it for months.

Dr. Jake Destructo 03-17-2005 08:50 PM

What would you change it to, 307?

 Never mind...

I wanna change mine as well. I think "The Kombucha" would be cool. You guys have any suggestions?

Illmatic 03-17-2005 08:50 PM

Shaq
Garnett
Kidd
Allen
Rip Hamilton
Kirk Hinrich
Mike Bibby
Brad Miller
Ben Wallace
Rasheed Wallace
Michael Redd

All of these guys would excel in international play, but they weren't there

magicbus 03-17-2005 08:51 PM
I'm not sure.

Any ideas?

(for the record, by AH I meant AntiHero, but its all good :p )

Illmatic 03-17-2005 08:52 PM

Wait, where do I post if I want a name change?

Jom 03-17-2005 08:52 PM
AH, what do you want to change it to?
I just wanted my "h" lowercased and the numbers chopped off, but apparently there's someone with the username "antihero," but he/she hasn't posted in six months, and that's frustrating, because I plan on having longetivity posting here.

Ray: go to the Site forum, in Ask the Mods.

Yea I realized it looked like that too. Oh well.

NP: Jeff Beck stuff.

Dr. Jake Destructo 03-17-2005 08:57 PM

Acronyms.. That kind of freaked me out when you answered my question before I had asked it.

EDIT: 307, do you have msn?

My dad got it out for me, and I ripped it on to my computer, but I haven't listened yet.

Right now, I'm really diggin Blow By Blow and Wired. These albums rule. I'll have to check out Who Else! next time I'm at my dad's house.

On the first song, Jennifer Batten plays the most badass two-handed riff ever. And "Brush with the Blues" is one of my favorite JB songs ever. "Declan" is mighty fine as well, pairing Donal Lunny's Celtic compositions with Jeff's guitar. That album is one I like a lot better than his two most recent: those albums are much more hardcore-techno influenced.

I heard his newer ones weren't that great, but Who Else! stood out as a great album. This makes me want to listen to it even more.
