Yeah, clean singing in bm, ughh, such a disgrace!
"So the new Enslaved is great, huh."
thats more viking/progressive/black |
i liked OM at the time, new one Vīrstele Pamīntului is a pyle of shit
yeah the new one is meh. I thought it was OK on my first listen but wasn't paying much attention. folky bits were p lol |
Genuinely not liking a song/artist is cool, but this sounds more like you guys won't allow yourselves to like Gallowbraid or similar artists, just because there's some dumbass rule that says you can't sing in black metal.
On a side note, that song is completely different from the rest of Gallowbraid's material. |

yeah Black Metal shouldn't be "clean"
|
Clean singing in black metal is usually pretty awful, it's always really off key, low singing. A few bands pull if off well though like Tenebrae In Perpetuum and Mistur.
|
Yeah, it says right here:
Art. 897.634: under no circumstance shall the artist be allowed to sing in a clean voice. Any form of non-shrieking vocals is prohibited by the court of Satan on the penalty of being called "hipster bm".
|
Yeah, it says right here:
always thought you liked a lot of hipster bm, so that would make sense |
Making exceptions for bands like Enslaved or Agalloch is pretty lol, though. Just because they're not "purely" black metal. Well, neither is Gallowbraid.
|
I dig Om but not a fan. Everybody except me is a hater tho. I asked that question like last month
I like them a lot lol. |

re: Negura Bunget I am, or was, a pretty big fan. I really liked 'n crugu bradului and Om but don't have much interest in either of their 2010 albums. Once the bland split up all to hell and started changing their line-ups around I stopped caring. Of their two releases, I might look into "Măiestrit / Măiastru sfetnic" but apparently Vīrstele pămīntului is just goofy Romanian folk. It's a re-recording, but at least Măiestrit has their original line-up while Vīrstele is just a bunch of newfags |
yeah i gave ov hell a listen, pretty shitty
|
i just wanted to share the cover
|
its pretty silly
|
idk if anyone's heard this Winterfylleth band but I just loaded their promo into iTunes and the genre was listed as "English Heritage Black Metal"
|
Isn't that what Wodensthrone is called as well.
Listening to it, they do sound a bit similar. I think I might like this. |
idk but I cant believe it's serious
|
lol
|
Just arrived at track 3 of that album. Idk whether to call this track Drudkh worship or Drudkh ripoff. Other than that, this is pretty good.
|
I think I'm the only one who enjoys the new Negura albums in here.
Oh and Winterfylleth is pretty good stuff. |

Yeah, there's no question about that. OM is their masterpiece but their 2 new ones are still pretty good, each one very different but that's because of the member change and all that shit.
|
just realized how good leech is. i am loving ten black hymns
|
a little late, but here's what i have to say about 'clean' black metal. as murat said, it 'shouldn't' be clean - that's more of a thing where if i wanted to listen to something like that, i wouldn't be listening to black metal. for the most part, anything that tries to smooth over black metal doesn't sound good in the first place
also, i can't stand negura bunget at all also, ten black hymns is so fucking good aakon |
guys will Drudkh ever be good again
nah probably not |
i dont think so
personally i could see the 'good' in handful of stars, but whenever i feel like listening to drudkh it's probably one of the last albums i'd put on, so in other words i'll probably never listen to it again the best we can do is cry ourselves to sleep with blood or autumn |
infernal tearz ; ___ ;
|
ash pool :(
|
yeah...he needs to drop the whole cOsMiC rApE thing and get back to his first two releases in terms of style.
Like, after listening to his last album, some of the songs almost had "funny" parts to them. Idk how to describe it. |
