back in what day?

skate parks were huge in the late '70s, but us '80s kids didnt care for that stuff and it died out real fast.

well, back in *my* day.. :) I started skating in the late 80s, when skateboarding was in a lull.. I remember people predicting that it was going to explode again, and wow.....did it ever!
as far as I know, NYC was never home to many skateparks; not like southern california, anyway. it's just a bit of a bummer growing up wishing more than anything that there was a place to skate...

Question: Are Aheads heavier that normal wood sticks?
Answer: It doesn't matter.

/standard response

As far as I can remember, they're a bit lighter, being mostly hollow and all.

I really didn't want to know how much my ideal Sonor SQ2 kit was gonna cost, but oh no, I had to give the Kit Configurator a whirl, didn't I? And now look what I've done. My ideal kit is going to cost £3665.93 ($6,414.16).

Go with a delite if your getting a sonor. Unless you NEED a custom color or veneer. You will be more than happy.

milkmit 04-12-2006 04:43 PM

soooo... you bike freaks, would $150 USD be an ok price for this used cannondale m400?

I asked what sort of damage/wear there might be, and the guy wrote me back saying that the crankshaft could use an adjustment and/or repacking.
he mentioned nothing else -- except that not all of the parts are stock -- and invited me to stop by the check it out.

anyone?

The earth finish with gold hardware is enough for me to consider buying an SQ2 set.

It's just so damn sexy.

Berk 04-12-2006 04:57 PM

Anything with gold hardware owns.

Corkofski 04-12-2006 04:58 PM

moral debate: is it wrong for me to put a cymbal on ebay for twice the price i got it for, due to the fact its made by pearl, who are a major company and is a "pro" cymbal?

or, should i give it to my mate?

Berk 04-12-2006 05:07 PM

I REALLY doubt your gonna get it for more than you payed for it.
Give it to your mate.
What type ofset do you play?

milkmit 04-12-2006 05:09 PM

I'm sure most will disagree, but I'm all for the bleeding heart hippie route: give it to your friend. if he is in so great a need for a cymbal that you're willing to give him a pearl, then methinks the satisfaction he'll get out of it will be much greater than that which you'd get by ripping some noob off.

...but that's just me.. ;)

Berk 04-12-2006 05:10 PM

Cant always rip the n00bs.

At least the carpet you can walk all over without getting slapped.

GhostGrooveMike 04-12-2006 05:19 PM

Loyton 04-12-2006 05:20 PM
Whats STS9.com Loyton?

I have no idea what www.sts9.com is, mabye its a website? It was just random letters and a number I typed when my hands hit the keyboard.

And the kit is doing better than ever, my setup is perfected and cleaned and organized better than.... its ever been! On top of that, its back at the studio so as soon as mixing is delt with I can record quality audio.

Berk 04-12-2006 05:23 PM

Damn your lucky, Whatcha doing with the older kit?

Corkofski 04-12-2006 05:33 PM

hmm... plan... sell old pearl cymbal, use money to buy mate cheapish ride, still have some...

Maybe the comma is like the decimal point.

You know when you're at the subway in Amsterdam, and theres that Burger King with the homeless man who gives you directions to your train for 3 euros? Yeah.

And you want a big mac, and it says 6,30.

Six Euros Thirty Cents.

But than that'd make the set 288.00.

Phoenix 24 04-12-2006 05:56 PM

Do you guys think that Thomas Lang's signature sticks can be bad in my drums. Since there white laquered, will the leave marks on cymbals and stuff??

they will probably leave white marks, white sticks generally do, barker and dejohnette sticks both do, don't know about Thomas Lang's sticks though

Janeway 04-12-2006 06:08 PM

The tips aren't panted so it won't be as bad, but you'll get a little.

My eyes are killing me.
