i'll work for you

oliv_da_skinmasher 04-12-2006 06:04 AM

I wud but i work in ASDA

Drum Phil 04-12-2006 06:07 AM

Aye i wouldnt recruit non drummers. Simply because i hate having to wait while music shops find someone who knows what they're talking about.

A good manager stays on the shop floor with his customers too

We_Love_Lime 04-12-2006 06:10 AM
Indeed. Im lookin into taking a course in business management so i can open my own drum store. What do you guys reckon to that?

Ive learnt a lot from you guys and i think its time i helped others but im naturally a terrible teacher. So with the stuff ive learnt from here i reckon i could open up a fairly succesful store and sell what i know to be good quality and at a good price. I would of course have to sell some of the lesser quality crap like z customs, but thats simply supply and demand. I'd be concentrating more on the underrated lines of cymbals and drums :)
Go for it.

Wouldn't you have to sell mics, mixers, guitars, basses as well?

Our local store does that, and about probably ...50 some precent of the money they bring in is probably all that miscelanious.

It shouldn't be hard because you already probably have a knowledge in basses and probably guitars.

But you have a good concept with that underrated cymbals and drums.

Too bad I live in the US.

Talos 04-12-2006 06:11 AM

To Phil - Nice idea, I was thinking of doing something like that or making my own custom drums. But im not old enough to work so, maybe some time in the future :)

To We Love Lime - Not necessarily, it could just be a drum store but you'd get more cash for selling other instruments as well.

I know.

The store I speak of is called Midwest Drum and Percussion.

But they don't get enough money from drums and percussion alone to sustain themselves.

Nice people. Local/smaller stores are the best.

Drum Phil 04-12-2006 06:17 AM

Theres already a Sound Control in the area and they have the monopoly on PA, Guitar and Bass.

That sucks.

Well...

You could probably be primarily drums and percussion at first, than upgrade accordingly.

Corkofski 04-12-2006 06:21 AM

lol

that was funny... sick but funny

i had a little cube of soap in the shower, about 2cm x 2cm x 2cm.

anyway, dont ask why, but i was bored, so i shoved it up my ***, and it went right inside, and i then reverse-crapped it up inside me.

then, it started to burn like hell, so i ran to the toilet and shat it out... and just started laughing

Drum Phil 04-12-2006 06:53 AM

Its an ambigram. White will know it. It can be viewed upside down and still look the same.

Pleaseme 04-12-2006 07:44 AM

Ha, that's really cool.

Janeway 04-12-2006 09:05 AM

Why the hell is the sauce in easy mac so hard to mix in?!

Undisco Kidd 04-12-2006 09:14 AM

don't get easy mac. get super pretzels. my mom got a box of 20 huge ones at sams. delicious. they're like the ones you get at sports-things, with the salt and stuff. 50 seconds in microwave = done.

Janeway 04-12-2006 09:18 AM

We've got a box of those in the freezer.
Exept they're zapasnack kind.

Janeway 04-12-2006 09:22 AM

So, my grandpa won't give me his set and now I have to forge his will and give him arsenic.

fishbulb 04-12-2006 10:44 AM

Just got back from Mammoth last night. Snowboarding rocked, but i got the wind knocked out of me and felt like i wanted to throw up. Other than that it was cool.
