Hotel California, Desperado and S/T are great albums. Though i'm going to have to agree that there are only a few songs that are brilliant and I could never get sick of. Some bands have a song like The Eagle's best every 2nd song they make.
|
I like a lot of songs by the Eagles, but they aren't the type of band that I could listen to fairly regularly and not get sick of. It's just more of a preference thing, I think.

The Eagles are a band that I could listen to every day for the rest of my life and not get sick of. I've loved them since I was a little kid. They're songs are so diverse too. From the earlier music, to when Joe Walsh joined the band, their sound evolved so much. I would have to say Peaceful Easy Feeling is my favourite Eagles song. It always puts me in such a good mood. It's so nice and layed back, I just love that song. |
I like The Eagles, but I don't really think they're anything exceptional. Fun to listen to, but only a couple songs would I consider great.
Edit: I just mailed out Smile. Most of you probably have it, but if you don't, check your mail.
I didnt get it :( |
The Eagles are a great band for me to just listen to when I feel like relaxing. All of their songs are at a high level, nothing mindblowing, but all just really well put together.
Has anyone heard of Eric Clapton's "Rainbow Concert"?
Holy shit. One of the greatest things I have ever heard. I'll upload it later this week, but it's such an amazing concert with Eric Clapton, Ronnie Wood and Pete Townshend all on guitar. It's amazing.
I got in early July, talked about how great it was for a while and PinkFreud was the only other person who had it. Glad someone else loves it. Don't forget about Steve Winwood on organ. His singing on Pearly Queen led me to get into Traffic. And Reebop is like the coolest guy ever. I don't have anything by The Eagles. I like some of their stuff I've heard on the radio, Take It Easy is great. I kind of got sick of Hotel California (the song) just because it's so overplayed. |
I didnt get it :(
me neither- princesslolly006@yahoo.com I missed No Direction Home's 2nd half, maybe I will catch it this weekend There was such a Dylan vibe at school after they showed the first documentary, some kid was playing Greatest Hits I in the hallway and everyone was taling about it. It was cool |
I sent out Johnny Cash American IV 'cause I was bored and felt like uploading something. If any of you want it, you should download it as soon as you can because I'm going to send it out to the metalheads too.
/bump |
Ok cool. What I meant earlier was any album you send to the metalheads, write a little bit about it.
|

Will do. I didn't send Roy Orbison to the metalheads. Probably should have though. Should I write about in the thread or the actual e-mail? |
I did it in the email, but if the thread starts dying out maybe we'll do it in there.
|

So, what kind of Classic Rock would they like? I'd amagin Deep Purple would be a good starting point. I can upload Shades of Deep Purple, Machine Head, or Deep Purple In Rock if necesarry. Thanks. :) |
We have these video tapes that have been sitting idle in one of our video cassette drawer thingies for years, I opened it up because I thought the Beatles Anthology was in there and I wanted to watch it (haven't in four years, as I said, it has been idle for a long time), and I saw two video tapes with my name on it. Curious and nostalgic, I put in one of them. I never recorded stuff very much on my own tapes so I wasn't surprised when I saw an Enterprise episode on there that my dad and brother recorded. But right after that was the Concert For New York way back in 2001, and I don't think any of us saw it, we just recorded it.
So I tune in, and saw The Who. **** they were good. Also probably one of Entwistle's last shows, so it was good seeing him. |
JonG, i sai this a wwwhhhiiilllee ago, but i dont think you saw it,could you upload ethro Tull-Songs From The Wood, (i think that was yo that had it)thanks
I just sent out Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert for anyone interested.
I'm listening to that again. Little Wing is a great song on that album. |
My speakers on my computer are messed up and are as quiet as they could be, and I can't turn them up. It's killing me because there are a lot of albums that I only have on my computer. Oh the pain! Oh the horror!
np: Queen Jane Approximately (at an almost inaudible volume) |
I just sent out Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert for anyone interested.
I didnt get a copy  Thats Sucks that your speakers are busted on your comp thickasabrick. That happened to me before. It Took over a week to get new ones. Worst Week Ever. |
I use my headset to listen to music. It tunes in on all the instruments. Excellent sound quality.

I think my favorite is Crossroads though. |
i need to get a copy of the new list too. Im Echoes4258@comcast.net if you cant find it.
Clapton has never been my favorite solo musician, but he can wail on the guitar. If he showed a bit more emotion when playing Id be more intereested. I got the Clapton & Friends 1986 DVD and the guitar parts were great, but I found it very hard to keep interest. Id probably just use it as a guide to learning any of his songs if i watched it again. And now i may actually be able to get a Cream ticket with my friend for $150 since i just won a football pool for about that. Crappy seats, but at least we can see the stage (binoc-o-vison baby) :) |
PinkFreud, I'll try to e-mail you the Stones album tonight. I've been quite busy the last few days.
np: The Band - The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down |

np: The Band - The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down
I was listening to The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down this afternoon off Rock Of Ages. Rock Of Ages is an amazing live album. The Band rule. |
The Band rule.
I heard "The Weight" today and I was thinking how American the Band sounded.....only problem is they're all Candian except the drummer. They're one of the most American sounding bands I've ever heard. :-/

My dad was at that concert. I love that album, especially the Night They Drove Old Dixie Down. |

The Band are great. TNTDODD is prolly my favorite song by them. |

Up On Cripple Creek, When I Paint My Masterpiece and Acadian Driftwood are all close though. And The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down is great of course. Edit- Who's this woman covering In My Life on PBS now? |
