Not much. Bought a new desk yesterday, replaced the crap I had before, new mouse/keyboard/hard drive. Looking up what graduate schools I want to go to so I can request information packets.

read the thread

mnemonic 03-28-2010 05:11 AM

i hate running on concrete, i got mad shin splints last time i did that.

also,
squirrel, seeing as you seem to think yourself the god of all that is exercise, would sprint training, or whatever you would call it, be considered HIIT?

and if not, what are some examples of HIIT?
wait i have a treadmill...running isn't good?
Don't listen, running is good for you. Back when we were hunters, gatherers and rapists, it's what we did all day, it's what our body has adapted to over thousands of millenia.

Squirrel 03-28-2010 06:33 AM

Yeah but we didnt run for miles.

We sprinted over short distances, on earth, not concrete.

Running is good for you, yes. How many ****ing times do I have to post that. Running endless miles on concrete in the aim of losing body fat, overall, is not. It's an inefficient way of doing it. And as said, it ****s your joints no end.
squirrel, seeing as you seem to think yourself the god of all that is exercise, would sprint training, or whatever you would call it, be considered HIIT?

HIIT is high intensity interval training, so given that spring training is a high intensity exercise over intervals rather than prolonged time, then yeah, pretty much.

People use them pretty interchangably.

fingers mccoy 03-28-2010 07:36 AM

squirrel are you mostly arguing for hiit over extended moderate cardio for fat loss or do you think that an activity entirely different to running would produce better results

Squirrel 03-28-2010 07:50 AM

Both: HIIT is by far the best tool for fat loss, and there are many exercises that are more efficient than simply running for 30 minutes.

fingers mccoy 03-28-2010 08:03 AM

like what

Squirrel 03-28-2010 08:06 AM

Swimming.

Shadow boxing/boxercise/punchbag.

Weight-lifting.

Bodyweight exercises.

Royd Rage 03-28-2010 11:51 AM

what about running in like hills or mountain country...less bad for your joints?

what about pushups,situps?...can that be used for high intensity to burn fat?

i got rid of the weights it was taking up way too much room but i have a bag with salt in it for weight. waaaay cheaper than regular weights. 100 pounds cost me just over 10 dollars.

Kuffuffled 03-28-2010 12:01 PM

A dollar a pound is a little retarded I'd agree

Just use plaster and match your paint. If they are too big for plaster then you can always put something over the hole so you have a surface to plaster over. Just make sure not to poke at that part of the wall.

idk how sturdy it would be, but to the naked eye you could probably fool some one.

edit: Remind me never to use Ibanez stock pickups again on something. They use like 26 gauge wire and it is crap. I got my GRX40 wired up with S1/S1/V8 and the neck and bridge sound like the grounding is bad, but the middle is fine. Though the grounds to all three pickups are tied together and then have one wire to one of the grounding piles on a pot.

*sigh*

I know it has been a while since I put in some new pickups but this is annoying.

Any one ever get their hands on one of these?

I remember some one posted a video demonstration of it. Thinking about either getting that or a BOSS TU-3.

JoshIsNumber3 03-28-2010 09:12 PM

Wow LFD that's interesting, do go on.

mx guitar forum is so behind

HCFX kinda decided:

-Tracking isn't super fast, but no worse than a TU2
-Accuracy is more than enough even in poly mode
-Some people liked being able to check if the guitar was in tune in a single strum eg between songs, others found they weren't really using it in poly mode very much (perhaps because they're not used to it though)

S'all right, could do with some more direction. Nice chord progression when the keys (I assume) kick in. Is this the sort of stuff Isis do? Always seen their name around but never bothered to listen.

JoshIsNumber3 03-29-2010 06:27 PM

It's not at all what they do, I was just particularly inspired. Also, not keys, just a stuttered rhythm delayed guitar. It has more direction with vocals, also there's an ending bridge that I'll put arpeggios in and the outro. I'm also going to drop it about 5-8 bpm.
