Cheap, no-name knock-offs.
Uh, no it doesn't. Aftermarket means anything that you can buy to outfit something with. If you get an old car with a cassette player and you want to put a CD player in it, that's an aftermarket part. If you have a new Jazz bass and you want to put a BAII bridge on it, the BAII is aftermarket. There are definitely cheap aftermarket parts, but aftermarket =/= cheap. Aftermarket is literally that: after the market. The market being the main venue from which you make your original purchase, the after market being all of the components, accessories, etc. which can be purchased AFTER in order to customize/repair/whatever the original acquisition. |

I was just thinking in the narrow terms of what parts I'm going to put on it. I don't really want a fretless, but I don't trust my fretting skills enough to try a fretted bass. Maybe I'll see a need for this fretless more than I will my other. |

I'm probably a 45 minute drive (west) away from the University of MN. I live by Chaska and Chanhassen, which were apparently voted two of the best places to live in the U.S. at some point, or another. |

Hey guys, time for a brainstorm to help me out okay?
In a few weeks I'll be uploading some songs for download, and they're going to be in either a .zip or a .rar It seems to me like most people archive in .rar for download these days, I don't know much about it, so I'd like to know which would be a better option. The key point for me is for the archive to be openable by the largest possible number of people so it isn't inconvenient. |
I'd zip it, as it's the most widely usable of the two. Most people can open rars, but not necessarily anyone. You want to be accessible to the greatest number of people.

If you use a rar file you'll have to explain where to go download it and how it even works and by that point most people who don't already know how to use it lose interest. |
Cheers for the input.
|
Upload to where? Everyone who does torrents has winrar, or they're retarded, so idk.
|
Box.net most likely so I can view the download counts
|
Thank **** that week is over. I can't deal with any more tweakers hitting me up for cash atm.
|
Sup Cas?

Not much. Waiting to get tired, noodling on guitar until I do.

Fun stuff. Was it you that had the PRS? My guitarist brought his PRS McCarty to practice the other day. Nobody in the band know that he owned anything other than his Fender Strat and Fender Deville amp. That PRS played like butter, even though the action and intonation were in dire need of an adjustment. I know that, if I ever buy another guitar, I'm going with a PRS for sure. Them guitars are so secksy. |
Oh wow, the Smokeburst one?
PRS are just, yeah, sexy. I've got an SE EG in the S/S/S pick-up configuration. I'm probably going to have the bridge and pick-ups and all that replaced one day when I have the money but I got it for a steal ($500 for it down from $1000) so I'm stoked with it any day of the week. I would like a proper guitar amp to play it through though, maybe a tiny little Vox tube dealie. |

After playing Fender, I've kind of been put off by the combo. I think the S/S/H combo (H in bridge position) is decently versatile, but H/H is by far my favorite now. I like Vox amps. I've considered grabbing a little Vox combo from time to time. |
I dunno about the S/S/S hey. It's got a 5 way pick-up selector, but only 2 of the positions are free of hum so I want to get that seen to. If I can have them all usable without hum, then I'll take stock of the situation afresh.
Yeah that's all I want hey, a tiny little combo, one speaker, but a really really nice one. |

one humbucker in bridge position. job done.
|
Shield it.
|
Shield it.
This. |

Not this.
one humbucker in bridge position. job done.
This. |
Both of those things.
|
I think having one of them reverse wound might do it too.

Nice. I love my Brice FL. It's such a comfortable neck profile and versatile tone. |
Man, just listened to the At the Drive In album Relationship Of Command for the first time in years. Forgot how bloody good it was.

Yeah they will - they'll keep my girl quiet and occupied on long trips. |
Ah, I hadn't thought of that.
I retract my smart-arse wankerishness. Have a nice day! |
Me: What is that? Are you watching "WHen Harry Met Sally Again"? Her: Yes! Wanna watch it with me? Me: But honey, it's the fifth time we've seen it this week... or, alternate ending: Me: **stabs her in the chest and pushes her out door on highway.
|

I do that already on my Zune. In other news, my girl and I are thinking about starting a new genre of pr0n - Pr0nOperaphy. It's basically the same as all pr0n where you take a movie title, change it a bit to make it dirty, except we'll use operas. All of our "actors" will have to be trained opera singers as well. |
