Seasons In the Abyss has pretty good lyrics mixed well with the music IMO.

On the lyrics talk: I don't think you have to believe what you write, though it's always better. That said though, my lyrics are always very nihilist/pagan/anti-general religion overall, and I doubt I could write that even half decent if not for having strong beliefs.

Yo, what do you guys think of Christ Illusion. I think its pretty sick. The only thing I guess that is somewhat of a nuisance for me is the fact that the recordings are inconsistent, they sound different. I guess its from the download. I might buy it.

I don't like it, and many other don't like it either. The lyrics on a lot of songs seem too generic for me. Like on Cult, the lyrics just sound so generic, singing about the flaws with religious dogma, and it just kind of gets annoying.

Actually, a lot of people like it. I've been moving away from this site in favor of the Slayer forums lately, and I posted a thread asking people to rate 'Christ Illusion', and I gave them Sputnik's ratings. So far, the average from about 25 voters is a 4.4/5 The lowest score so far would be a 3/5 by an individual person. That's pretty darn good in my book. Everyone on there seems to like it, except for a bout 2-3 n00bs who come in and start threads saying like "omgz this album sux hxc reign in blood 4evur!!!11"

Everyone on here seems to hate it. But outside of here, most Slayer fans are really digging it. Including me.

I dunno about anyone else, but in the files I got I can occasionally hear band members talking beneath the music. It's funny.

You can hear that on Raining Blood if you really listen to it. Kerry says "is this right?" and Jeff says "Yeah"

I don't even know why people are so crazy about Reign In Blood. Most people consider it their best album, but I'm only guessing because of Angel of Death.

[I]Reign In Blood[/I] just has an intense chaotic assault on the senses feel, which [I]Hell Awaits[/I] sorely lacks.

Hell Awaits is a more evil album, focusing on more demonic subjects, that's why I feel is the best Slayer album, simply because that's Slayer's image.
