I really like Ephel Duath. What other bands might I like?
Cynic
Athesit
Peccatum
Spiral Architect
Aghora (Almost the same music with female vocals)
Alarum
Between The Buried And Me

Apocalyptic Raids 12-12-2005 06:36 PM

Basilisk
Graveland
Nokturnal Mortum
Blut Aus Nord
Xasthur
Dissection
Epheles

You should check out Dissection first, they are very accessible as far as Black Metal goes.

I am assuming you already know bands like Mayhem, Burzum, Satyricon and Dimmu Borgir. It would help if you don't put 'etc' at the end. It makes it quite hard to recommend bands which you haven't heard yet :-\

TGE is amazing, IMO Nevermore's best release.

Naglfar are really good, check out their album Pariah is a great piece of work.

Disillusion - Back to times of splendour
3 inches of blood - don't know the album name
Pelican - The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon The Taw
Porcupine Tree - Deadwing
Dark Tranquility - Character (that's the new album if I'm right)
Pain of salvation - remedy Lane
Cephalic Carnage - Anomalies

I hope this helps some, I know they're not all along the lines of what you listen, but good music nonetheless

I'm in the need of some, I guess, screamo type stuff.

I'm listening to From First To Last, and I like it. Its relieving some stress. Are there any more bands like this, that are any good?

Iron Bars 12-14-2005 04:54 AM

I don't know that band but when I think Screamo I think Circle takes the square. If you don't have it you should try that.

Alexisonfire, definitely. Their self titled cd is more screaming. Their other one: Watch Out! is more singing, but still screaming. It's probably a good first choice. Depends if you like singing or screaming.

Get some Finch if you haven't already, and Sparta. Porcelain is a good CD.

I'm looking to get into black metal, 'cept I'm not big on shoddy production. I've got the "Bergtatt" album by Ulver, as well as "Empiricism" by Borknagar, but where should I go next? I'm fair open minded, but I'd prefer if the production didn't TOTALLY blow (which I hear is rare for BM...). Thanks in advance.

Stormrider 12-16-2005 05:21 PM

Time 12-16-2005 05:41 PM

Well, this is pretty general, but I'm looking for a starting point in metal. I don't really know any bands, I like Pantera, and i've heard some Opeth songs that were okay, but other than that I'm pretty clueless. Thanks.

Stormrider 12-16-2005 05:42 PM

Thanks guys. And Apocolyptic Raids, I know of Demons And Wizards, being the huge IE fan(note user title) and huge Blind Guardian fan.

Thanks for the rest though.

And Ill look into that album Txus. Well If i like them...
