Guns of Brixton, London Calling, Rudie Can't Fail and Clampdown are probally my favourites on London Calling.

white_riot 06-04-2005 03:10 PM

Clampdown is such a great song.

Scabies 06-04-2005 03:15 PM

me too, london calling is a good song when you havent heard it 10000 times. Same for clash city rockers.

white_riot 06-04-2005 03:19 PM

I use to listen to Clash City Rockers alot. But I have stopped lately, I don't have it on any of my c.d's which sucks.

Forest_Fire 06-04-2005 03:21 PM

Number of songs i've listened to by the clash this week:

1

I really haven't been listening to them latley... :(

Coma_Girl 06-04-2005 03:44 PM

i listened to the clash and the mescaleros all week cause i was in a bad mood, and when i'm in a bad mood i can't listen to anything else or i get even more depressed. i tried to get a life and it didnt work.

I like Train In Vain, Clampdown, The Card Cheat, and Rudie Can't Fail best.

Clash songs i skip are, Clash City Rockers, London Calling, Jimmy Jazz, Lovers Rock ect..

Aeaon 06-04-2005 04:21 PM

I never skip any clash song on any CD. But then again, Combat Rock isn't quite as good as other Clash releases. Doesn't sound punk enough.

Aeaon 06-04-2005 04:21 PM
Jimmy Jazz
Jimmy Jazz is a very good reason to like London Calling though. :upset:

It looks like them circa 1982. But even barely then.

CombatRock 06-05-2005 02:55 AM

Joe and Mick look like 82, but Paul would be before 80 cos of the bass. but what do those artist know.

Yeah, seriously.

Something I've noticed about The Clash, on most of their albums there's a really "emotional" song on it. Their S/T had "White Man In Hammersmith Palais", GEER had "Stay Free," London Calling had "The Card Cheat", Combat Rock had "Straight To Hell", etc.

Just an observation.

sketchyjoe 06-05-2005 12:55 PM
Their S/T had "White Man In Hammersmith Palais",
Only the US version. The original didn't.

And that's not a very emotional song if you look at the lyrics.
