Does anyone know of a place to find Opeth vinyls? Besides ebay. I've bought Orchid, MAYH, and Morningrise. I'm looking for BP, Delieverance, ****ation, and Still Life.
If you live in the LA/Hollywood area (which I doubt) You could check Amiba Music.
I only have BWP and Still Life, but they are amazing. I personally like Blackwater Park better, but Still Life is right up there.

I never really hear people talk about The Leper Affinity when they talk about BWP. That's one of my favorites on that album.
That is my favourite song off BWP. I just love it.

Refl 07-20-2005 05:53 AM

I'm likeing the new tracks so far.

The rythmical approach is good, Opeth clearly saw that despite the shortfallings of the Deliverance album, the title track did kick booty and was a bit of a change for the band.

Mr Benners 07-20-2005 09:01 AM

Woah, that official version of The Grand Conjuration is immense - has anyone managed to make/obtain a rip of it (or got one from the people on the Opeth boards) because it REALLY blows the radio rip out of the water. I completely agree about the guitar line under the syncopated bit, 'tis fantastic.

Still not sure which of the two (GOP and TGC) I prefer. I'm quite liking the Meshuggah kinda influence of TGC, but as mentioned before GOP has the acoustic part. Hmm...

Why does everyone always bash Delevirance I thought it was up to par with all of their albums if not better than a few.

I agree. I really can't say which Opeth album is my favorite or least favorite. The only album that I think wasn't up to par was MAYH, and thats still a great album.

Maybe because Master's Aprentices and Wreath are songs different and hevier than these on BWP or Still life

To me, they sound like what Morningrise tracks would sound like if they were re-recorded in the same environment.

Im really loving Deliverance at the moment, even if not every track is great, the title track, Master's Apprentices and Wreath are up there with my favourites

Yeah, pretty much all of their albums are awsome.

PIGS(1 different one) 07-20-2005 01:32 PM

I just got a sample of Baying of the Hounds it sounds pretty messed up, some major key singing too which sounds amazing and completely different than what Opeth have ever done.

I will upload to YSI right now.

The songs in Morningrise have bigger acoustic parts and Opeth were in the direction of black metal while now they are a melodic\progressive\death metal band. However, both Deliverance and Morningrise kick ***!

PIGS(1 different one) 07-20-2005 01:36 PM

Baying of the Hounds.

It's only a short sample though.
After listening to all of my Opeth CD's (minus MAYH and Stilllife, I don't own them) I can say Orchid is definetly their best.
See, Orchid is the only one that I can't really get into. You don't own Still Life?! Agh!

Yeah, Orchid is one of my favorites, but I like them all a lot.

Taste_My_Scythe 07-20-2005 02:08 PM

Can someone please upload some Opeth for me? Choice songs off the albums except for Blackwater Park and Morningrise.

ArC 07-20-2005 02:45 PM

I'm uploading Deliverance, April Eternal, In the Mist She was Standing, and Serendy Painted Death from Deliverance, My Arms Your Hearse, Orchid, and Still Life respectfully.

I'll edit this post when they are done.

I'm a casual Opeth fan, but I could go see them. The only problem would be transport and money. I'm currently broke. Oh well.

I'm currently loving Still Life. :)

Could I bug you for Demon Of The Fall too? Its unlikely i'll afford another Opeth album (excpet GR) before I see them, and I dont wanna feel a n00b when they play it.

No problem, it'll be a little bit though. Even on cable it takes awhile to upload five 10+ minute songs.

I'll snag that one for you(demon of the fall), I'm sure he's got his hands full right now.

I also enjoy how a short opeth sample is 3 minutes long. Good find dude. Too bad the quality is poor.

Adam Jones is GOD 07-20-2005 03:17 PM

Cheers for that. Its not a matter of if I get that album, but when. Orchid will come last though

Blanka Flip 07-20-2005 03:51 PM

So somone said Extol would suck opening for Opeth... What do they soundlike?

Shadows Rise 07-20-2005 03:53 PM

I've heard all of ghost of Perdition, it's all right. But the song "The Grand Conjuration" was n't all that good in my opinion.

looks decent: I exspected they would have some crappy nu-metal band opening up for them, yuck, Roadrunner

Blanka Flip 07-20-2005 04:05 PM

As long as you don't call DevilDriver nu-metal... They are the real deal. Opeth loves them too...

ArC 07-20-2005 04:17 PM
