how much did that cost you lunch998
I found it on Amazon.com for like 15$US or so. You have to pay shipping, but I waited until my parents ordered something so they paid shipping. It might be in a CD store around you. My local stores that have a huge selection are very overpriced, so I try to order CDs offline.
Emerson, Lake and Palmer aren't cheesy man! They are just plain talented. Prog rock is probably the best chapter in Classic Rock. It introduced elements of jazz and classical music into the vain of rock and blues and created some of the best music ever. I suggest that people who say they like classic rock listen to Yes' "Fragile," "Close to the Edge" ELP's "Pictures at an Exbidition" and "Taurus" and the Crimson classic "21st century schozoid man." There is just nothing like it.
yea man good point... i hate people that say they like pink floyd/classic rock and dont even know what the **** prog rock is

i havn't really gotten into crimson, i only know about 5 of their songs, ill check my local lp store for that album though :)

miltonj621 08-16-2004 10:35 PM

cool try their stuff from the late 60's and early 70's. Fripp's guitar work is amazing as well as Lake's bass playing. Its like listening to Chicago on acid, which is by the way another great classic rock band that has been left out of the conversation

magicbus 08-17-2004 06:51 AM

I got that double disc thing for $22.

PoWeRsLaVe667 08-17-2004 06:56 AM

My Uncle introduced me too classic rock and classic metal like...

The Doors
Pink Floyd
Jimi Hendrix
Led Zeppelin
Def Leppard
AC/DC
Peter Frampton
Rush
Quiet Riot

...and there all awesome

bobthenamelesswonder 08-17-2004 10:24 AM

I love classic rock. If u listen to modern rock, it's just not the same. My mum introducud me to Queen & the Eagles, but now i'm listening 2 Van Halen a lot. By the way, does any1 else think it's weird that Eddie & co. hated Diver Down 'cos of all the covers on it, but the only 2 tracks from it on the Best of Both Worlds album are covers?

BludgeonySteve 08-17-2004 12:58 PM

I don't find it weird. They hate a lot of stuff. Eddie Van halen is a douche.

PinkFloyd 08-17-2004 01:07 PM

ELP has a wicked drummer.

Against Miik! 08-17-2004 01:08 PM

Would anybody be interested in some pics of my Allman Brothers experience?

Post them!

I want to see the current lineup.

Against Miik! 08-17-2004 01:17 PM

Well it hasn't happend yet. I'm going in about a week, and I just bought a digital camera. My seats are in the front 1/3 and in the middle, so I should get some good shots. I was just asking for later.

Badmoon 08-17-2004 01:17 PM

Okay then.

I have school tommorow. :(

Against Miik! 08-17-2004 01:19 PM

Paranoidd 08-17-2004 01:40 PM

I feel bad for all you school people.

BludgeonySteve 08-17-2004 02:10 PM

don't feel bad for me.

1. That's where my dealer sells me stuff.
2. Chicks.
3. Constant entertainment.
4. Since i'm going to highschool there's a good chance of me finding a drummer for my band.

ledpoisoning27 08-17-2004 02:12 PM

i think jet is a pretty good band that plays music in the classical rock genre

BludgeonySteve 08-17-2004 02:35 PM

^I don't. They have such a band generic sounds. Uverdone riffs and 3 second solos. However they are one of the best mainstream bands out at the moment in my opinon.

Hello Thread, before you flame me for my first post :upset: , I just want to let you know that I have read allllllll 138 pages of this forum. And I must say I agree with classic rock being the best genre out there. The only problem is that all my friends only like the basic bands. I'm getting in much deeper to CSN&Y, Grateful Dead, Derek and the Dominoes and other under appreciated bands  .Anyways,.....what Allman Brothers Band album would you reccomend.

<------Can't believe this username was open!!

Woodstock 08-17-2004 03:12 PM

Thanks Jimmy Page :)

BludgeonySteve 08-17-2004 03:21 PM

Eat a peach is the best allman brothers album. Also notebale ablums- Seven turns, brothers and sisters, hittin the note.

Or you could get their self titled. always a good way to start

iwant_taquitos 08-17-2004 03:27 PM

classic rock is probably my favourite kind of music. bands like the beatles, led zeppelin, pink floyd and countless other bands from the 60s/70s built the foundation for rock music today.

xxxRoCkJuNkiExxx 08-17-2004 03:29 PM

I only read 18 pages of this thread but I love it! I'm pretty new to this site so I couldnt get into it sooner: :( I've only gotten into classic rock since summer started but I've fallen hard for it. My favorites would have to be the Beatles, the Who, the Rolling Stones, Bad Company, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Bob Seger, Robert Palmer, CCR, Aerosmith and I know I'm forgetting some..oh well. I'm looking for Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, YES, Rush, Pink Floyd, Van Halen, and Yardbirds..anyone have any suggestions?

has anyone else noticed classic rock songs more frequently appearing on commercials??
