Yea, Al was full of energy when he was being interveiwed.

I just re-discovered Village Green by the Kinks today. :)

I can't wait to see Paul!!!! That set sounds incredible! I once had a teacher that bid on E-Bay at school on various Beatles signatures. He had like 3 of John Lennon's, 2 of George and one of Paul and Ringo. What a collection!!!!

I'm seeing Paul next saturday. I can't wait!
You guys are sooo-hooo lucky. Its a life-changing sort of thing. It was fun seeing it in Boston because of all the Tea-Party jokes, but I'm sure it gets old (eh, Ray?)

I don't think it's even set in yet

Someone uploaded SMiLE a few weeks ago, so I'm not sure how much demand there is

How many points do you need to get those snappy little stars?

You need 1,000.

I have 158, woo!

robo2448 09-28-2005 05:37 PM
I guess, is it good?
Smile is very good. Brian Wilson is a genius.

As Walrus said, someone uploaded it a little while ago, so I don't know how much demand for it there is.

Jacaranda 09-28-2005 05:38 PM

Gah, I have 116. How I have more then Deus, Badmoon and magicbus is beyond me.

I was never a big fan of SMiLE I got it like the first week it came out and was very dissappointed, I'm not sure why though. Just don't fancy me.

Probably because you are an uploading machine

So I had to make a speech in from of the school today, and all of my hippie friends decided to cheer for me, which was a pleasent surprise because I didn't know I had hippie friends

EDIT: Beatles documentary on PBS at 8

Because you suck.

Just kidding, I'm not sure why either.

JonG 09-28-2005 05:50 PM

Is that Beatles program that's on in 10 minutes any good? It's from the perspective of Pete Best.

Jacaranda 09-28-2005 05:52 PM
Because you suck.

I don't think you are. :upset:

Wow, I wasn't aware of the Beatles one I'll have to watch it.
Today I went and got some cool patches for my jacket, I got a Sgt. Pepper patch that looks like the Drum from the cover and a Purple Rolling Stone Lip. I think I'm going to get this pretty cool Shroom that says The Allman Brothers Band in it or I'm going to get a Meany from Yellow Submarine movie.

robo2448 09-28-2005 05:59 PM

Beatles show should be interesting, but I don't think it'll be anywhere as good as the Dylan show. The popular music and protest show on at 9 looks really good though.

JonG 09-28-2005 05:59 PM

Hmm, just got a couple albums. Dark Horse and American Recordings. I'm downloaded Double Nickels on the Dime.

Does anybody else think that Dark Horse reminds them of Sgt. Peppers?

Could you upload Dark Horse if it's good? I've been looking for that for a while. The cover does look a little like the cover of Sgt. Pepper's.

robo2448 09-28-2005 06:24 PM
Sure.
Thanks. Is it good? 'Cause apparently he had laryngitis when he was recording it.

Are you looking for anything?

thickasabrick 09-28-2005 07:58 PM

Oh god last nights second half of No Direction Home was great. A girl in my physics class taped the first half, so I'm gonna go watch it again. See ya suckers!

Did anyone else get a baby tree in school today?

Broken Arrow 09-28-2005 07:59 PM

Has anyone heard of Eric Clapton's "Rainbow Concert"?

Holy shit.

One of the greatest things I have ever heard. I'll upload it later this week, but it's such an amazing concert with Eric Clapton, Ronnie Wood and Pete Townshend all on guitar. It's amazing.

PinkFreud 09-28-2005 08:12 PM

ii have it. its great.

PinkZeppelin27 09-28-2005 08:14 PM

hey everyone...

I went to this used book/cd store the other day to get some new cds and they had Perfect Strangers by Deep Purple for like 2 bucks. I'm kinda new to DP and don't know much about them. I was just wondering if this was some of their better work or not.
I've listened to most of it and I really like Wasted Sunsets and Knockin on Your Back Door. There were some pretty good solos too.

I'd imagine that In Rock and Machine head would be better. (those are the two I have by DP)

PinkFreud 09-28-2005 08:27 PM

perfect strangers is pretty good. i wouldnt class it as their best above the ones rnr listed, but its very solid.

PinkZeppelin27 09-28-2005 08:29 PM

I might check one of those out then. Thanks man.

The album Live in Japan is considered one of the top 3 live albums out there, at least as far as i've heard. DP are great live, or at least they used to be. If you can get that, I think that would be your best bet. Although it is good to get acquainted with studio work, Live in Japan is there best album in my book.

angusmaster 09-28-2005 08:34 PM

Off topic, but i heard hotel california today, and it made me wonder, what are all your opinions about the eagles,if we discussed them before,i dont remember it or i might not have joined then.

The Eagles are a great band.

My friend got to see them live backstage for free. Her friend's dad manages them.

DeusExMachina 09-28-2005 08:48 PM

I like The Eagles, but I don't really think they're anything exceptional. Fun to listen to, but only a couple songs would I consider great.

Edit: I just mailed out Smile. Most of you probably have it, but if you don't, check your mail.

blue3 09-28-2005 09:16 PM

Yes but they have a very long career. There's probably some great songs there that you haven't heard yet.

That's true. I haven't heard a ton of their stuff. Perhaps someone could upload what they consider to be a really top notch album of theirs?
