It's just a tag people put on bands that don't fit their narrow view of what black metal "should be"

also, the two skagos songs on the new split are probably their best, fucking phenomenal stuff

clean vocals on the first skagos track sounded a little off to me at first but after that it was really good

panopticon songs on the split are great (though not his best) but the skagos side was zzz. i haven't heard any of their other stuff though.

new drudkh album grew on me a bit, but its still pretty meh

I don't dislike it but its replay value has been meh for me.

The new Drudkh is a much better listen with headphones on, they did some really cool stuff with the production/layering that you don't catch on speakers (though it makes it even more obvious that they've been listening to tons of post-rock)

it's still musically not as good as their other stuff but still
