You can use it to e-mail files, or just get the link and post it somewhere such as mx. Check out the YSI threads in A&I, Other Music, and Jazz/Funk. There's some really good albums available.

JPJ, I've actually tried to upload Exile twice but YSI is ****ed up.
I might try later tonight, or maybe later in the week.

np- Stop Breaking Down- I've been on a Rolling Stones binge the last week

That's fine. My computer needs a break from all this downloading anyway.

wanton 06-07-2005 07:11 PM

It's my birthday on Sunday and I think my friend is getting me Eat A Peach.:D I had a list of CDs(All Things Must Pass, Disraeli Gears, PATGOD, and Eat A Peach are at the top) but I'll probably only get about two. I got a few posters from one of my brothers though. He gave me one Beatles, one Zeppelin, and one Floyd.

Did anyone else see the southern rock special on CMT this weekend? It mostly focused on the Allmans, The Marshall Tucker Band, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I thought it was pretty cool. Now I must learn Ramblin' Man.

If you like stufff like that you might want to check out some Poco and James Gang, I'm really disgusted by modern southern rock when compared to the stuff quoted above.

magicbus 06-07-2005 08:13 PM

Yesterday I picked up:

The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour
The Beatles - Revolver
Grateful Dead - Anthem of the Sun
Cream - Wheels of Fire

Illmatic 06-07-2005 08:18 PM

My first MX anniversary was five days ago. I completely forgot about it.

magicbus: I'm surprised you haven't gotten those already.

Against Miik! 06-07-2005 08:22 PM

So bascially theres this song "Train Train" by Blackfoot. It might just be one of the better southern rock songs ever written.

Any chance you could send that to me?

robo2448 06-07-2005 08:27 PM

/will check to see if library carries cds.

I never thought they would but worth a check if people are getting stuff like that.

Nice:thumb: I don't have Anthem of the Sun, but I have the others. What do you think of MMT and Revolver? MMT is one of my favorites. Wheels Of Fire is alright; I prefer the live disc because of Crossroads and Spoonful, and Baker is amazing on Toad.

Broken Arrow 06-07-2005 08:32 PM

I love both disc on Wheels of Fire.

Well "The Very Best of Cream" is enough until I buy all the albums (which is only 2 more), and I've just recently been getting into The Beatles (truly) and The Grateful Dead.

On the same topic, I love "Workingman's Dead" also. This is a great album, it's too bad I couldn't find it at Best Buy yesterday.

Does anybody know which of the original memebers are still in the band?

Badmoon 06-07-2005 08:54 PM
Does anybody know which of the original memebers are still in the band?
The Grateful Dead?

Billy Kreutzmann
Bob Weir
Phil Lesh

Broken Arrow 06-07-2005 08:55 PM

Micky Hart has his own band, Hydra or something.

Badmoon 06-07-2005 08:58 PM
Micky Hart has his own band, Hydra or something.
Yeah, and he is still in The Dead. But he is not an original member.

BassMasterMike88 06-07-2005 08:59 PM

Without Jerry i honesly dont consider them to really be the Greatful Dead.
(please refrain yourselfs from flaming)

Neither do they. Which is why they are now called "The Dead". :)

Yea, good song. Dickey Betts owns, especially with the Allman Brothers. He is the king of the pentatonic.

magicbus 06-07-2005 09:46 PM

Does anybody play pedal steel guitar? I really want to get one, but I'm not sure what kind. I'm checkin out ebay right now.

Badmoon 06-07-2005 09:48 PM

I was thinking about buying one once, but I didn't have the money. I'd still like one some day though.

It's probably the instrument I'd like to learn most, shortly followed by piano and harmonica.

I should start all my questions with "Badmoon:" instead of "Does anybody..." :p

Seriously though, this Dead stuff is awesome. I'd like to listen to American Beauty again.

Haha, if you want another Dead album come to me.

Wanton, I hope Lunch will respond to your request, because my computer is quite slow. Plus, I gave him the album; payback is necessary. :p
