Yeah but Fear Before is definitely more ambient/hardcore. (ambient because of the weird *** sections in some of their songs)

I was parodying Silverfang, this is definitely not ambient death metal. So in that respect, I don't know.

Traditionally no. It's a modifier that tends to have no real characteristic applied to it. Like a less irritating "progressive".

I understand the modifier thing when applied to certain genres is a bit iffy but idk how else to describe recordings of ambient sounds other then ambient music.

Well in such a case I don't really have a problem with it. It's in cases like our earlier "example" of ambient death metal that I get cheesed
