H'ray, I don't know any of those names, I feel so unamerican.

In other news, I banned Trivium.

jpj 09-19-2005 05:49 PM

I'd kinda like to see Frank Caliendo.
H'ray, I don't know any of those names, I feel so unamerican.
Not even Lewis Black or Jim Breuer? Stupid waffle boy...

Jom 09-19-2005 05:56 PM

I'll have to dig around my townhouse for it, but I'd be more than happy to send you a couple, Jelle.

jpj: when I find said DVD-R, I'll send you the Frank Caliendo routine. Did you get my e-mail from earlier about that album? If so, did you enjoy it? I know it's not something you'd typically listen to, but thanks for the support, anyway :)

I knew Ardal O Hanlon, because he's great.

And not American...

superpeer 09-19-2005 05:59 PM

If you feel like I'm missing out on something amazingly funny, sure, I'll watch it. Just make sure it's intelligible, I'm used to watching English things with subtitles and I don't always understand every American.

Your call.

jpj: stfu hamburger

I know a lot of British Comedy Series, but not individual comedians, I guess.

I listened to it, to me that kinda stuff is very enjoyable if your in the mood for it, not something to listen to all the time. My Own Worst Enemy is still irresistably catchy. And thanks :)

Actually I mean that I would be inconveniencing you. :p Don't go through too much effort unless it's really worth it, ya know?

You're not missing out on too many. But Lewis Black may very well be in my top 5, top 10 definitely.

What did he do?

superpeer 09-19-2005 06:08 PM

He's an idiot.

I don't even have the balls to face a wasp. I'm a big wuss when it comes to spiders/bees/wasps/hornets/whatever.

Dude, this one time, there was a big fricken' african bee that somehow got into my house, and of course, I was like "HOLY SHIT, AN AFRICAN BEE FROM AFRICA, THERES NO TELLING WHAT KINDA DISEASES IT CARRIES! IT'S STING HAS THE POWER TO KILL A ROW OF ELEPHANTS! ZOMGODDERS!" So anyway, I didn't have any Raid, because I'm a poor southern bastard, so I grab a can of air freshner, and swear to god, the thing came right at me for no apparent reason, probably though "FOOOOOD", so I grabbed the can of air freshener, and spray it at the motherfucker for a good two minutes until it finally collapsed to the ground and suffered death by Lemon-Scented Lysol.

It was weird, like watching a leaf fall to the ground.

Thor 09-19-2005 06:25 PM

I didn't even know who Trivium was, must have not been very important.

I just realized how easy Hallowed Be Thy Name (minus the solos) is on guitar.

All thanks to my 8 year old brother, who wanted to learn the song and had me look up a tab for it. :D

Moses 09-19-2005 06:59 PM

Lot's of Maiden songs are easy minus the solos.

Shadows 09-19-2005 06:59 PM

You should've told him to get it himself and then beaten him with a shovel.

But I guess you took the easy way out.

Shattered_Future 09-19-2005 07:00 PM
Lot's of Maiden songs are easy minus the solos.
Yea, but I hadn't looked at Maiden tabs in 2 or 3 years, cause they were too hard at the time...

I feel like I accomplished something today.

MBS 09-19-2005 07:22 PM

Ugh, the emo girl won't leave me alone!

I already told her to fuck off, but she said "haha aaron ur so funny".

Direct quote from her IM.

Edit: Seeing as I killed the thread, new topic:

Popeyes chicken is fucking awesome!

/is eating spicy chicken, biscuits and fries.

I can probably play all of Maiden's songs minus solos. :p The only one that I actually know, though, is Aces High. I can actually play the solos marginally well, too, minus a couple runs.

MYR- The only place I've ever seen a Popeye's Chicken was when I was in New Orleans. I thought it was kind of fitting, considering the majority population of New Orleans. (:p)

So, for the lunch today, I went to Arby's. I go there at least once a week, sometimes two. However, I realized today that their sandwhiches really aren't even good. I mean, not just "not good," we're talking ass flavored here. (Not like I've ever eaten ass or anything..) The only thing that I actually like about the place is that I can order a water, and fill my cup with Mountain Dew. Free soda is the bomb. Those poor gullible bastards.

Steerpike 09-19-2005 08:36 PM

I've been sitting on this all night trying to think of the best way to put this.

A friend of mine who lived in my house on-campus this year is bipolar. He had an episode recently, suffice to say it made his roommates extremely uncomfortable and he was asked to transfer to a new dorm. As a matter of fact, he was sent home for the weeken to talk things through with his family.

This evening, he apparently ODed on his meds while he was packing up his belongings and had to be sent to the hospital violently ill.

A couple friends and I went to visit him a few hours ago and talked to his family. The doctors say he'll pull through fine once they finish purging the excess medication from his system and flushing his bloodstream, but he looked horrible when we saw him. He was asleep from exhaustion and looked sick as a dog.

Moments like this really put things into perspective for you. My friends and I are going to check on him tomorrow to see if he's doing any better. We figure the stress of transferring to a new college and having a heavy course load along with his attempts to quit smoking all just back up on him and triggering the manic episode. We're trying to figure out how we can help pull him out of it. Though he needs to stay on medication, we can at least help put his mind at ease.

Jom 09-19-2005 08:46 PM

Wow, Alex. You and your friends are doing a good thing in going to see him and check on him. I'm sorry to read about his situation (a whole hell of a lot of good this does, but still)... but I hope he pulls through alright.

RiceMonster 09-19-2005 08:54 PM

Man. I'm glad this stuff never happens to anyone I know. I just really wouldn't no what to say or how to talk to these people. You're doing a good thing, and I hope he makes it. :(
