I live right outside NYC. We have CVS and A&P instead.
You live by New York and there's no Wal-Mart...wtf? |
There used to be one in the neighboring town about 5 minutes away, but it was replaced by another A&P. There probably is one somewhere, but I haven't seen any. 95% of the stores in the town where I live are girls clothing stores :upset:.
|
I don't even know what A&P is.
|
grocery store.
|
i like metal. i hate metallica though. it really depends on what mood im in.
|
Judas Priest \m/
|
yeah judas priest was awsome, untill they got all synthed up in the late 80s
|
Judas Priest \m/
Haha, there good too, my dads a big fan. I have a few of there albums on viynl.
My favourite Steppenwolf song is definetly the Pusher. I still remember when I saw them live, what a cool bluesy/pyschedelic time. Awesome show. |
Eddie Hazel is a genius!
I just got that album, as well.
Heh, I got that album recently too. I'm digging it. |
Dude, so what? You have to get up half way through the album, and you can't play them in cars, on computers, or put them on mp3 players. Plus if you don't have a nice system they usually don't sound perfect.
A CD encodes the music in a digital format. An LP has the music encoded in an analog manner. Our ears percieve analog in a much more more responsive way to digital. To the educated ear (sorry, I don't mean to sound snobbish or anything, that's just the best phrase I could think of), the difference is very noticeable. For example, my vinyl copy of Made In Japan (picked up for about £7) sounds far better than my cd version. |
Oh, and Deep Purple kicks ass. I really need to pick one of their albums up.
Yeah they do but I don't have any of their albums either :upset: I was at Wal-Mart today to buy an album but I didn't see any Deep Purple stuff there. I was really suprised. But it's ok because there is a CD store not far from my house. |
Deep Purple bores me to the point of sleep. (Not really but I really don't see what's so great about them)
So what does everyone think of Smile by Brian Wilson? Albums obtained as of late: Brian Wilson - Smile Jefferson Airplane - Crown of Creation Jefferson Airplane - Surrastic Pillow Grateful Dead - Live/Dead Grateful Dead - Skull & Roses |

So what does everyone think of Smile by Brian Wilson?
Yeah I'm not a huge Deep Purple fan either, I don't hate them or anything, I just have like a hundred other bands I'd rather listen to. I've never heard Smile, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. |
I have Smile. Good stuff, I haven't listened to much yet though.

The songs sounded very catchy and infectous. |

It's pretty good. Most like it more than me though; I know Med does. |
I have Smile. Good stuff, I haven't listened to much yet though.
How does it compare to his stuff with The Beach Boys. |
It's WAY better IMO.
|
Well, I think I'll get it then. The Beach Boys are good summer tunes but get really old after a while and is a little too California poppy to me. I've heard it's kind of psychadelic, is that true?
|
I would consider it to be psychedelic so yes.
|
good vibrations is pretty psychadelic
|
yeah same here, i find them amazingly boring- its just drony little guitar riffs |
All i've heard is smoke on the water so I can't judge
|

Did you just find them in a box or something? Did you know they were there?
Who put them there? Who's are they? |
Oh yea? Well I just got Live Cream Volume I and Blow By Blow!
/ :upset: By the way, the Live Cream album's are great. I've seen some reviews that made me think they were very subpar, but that isn't the case at all. |
Did you just find them in a box or something? Did you know they were there?
Who put them there? Who's are they?
1) 3 boxes 2) I had gone through them before, years ago before I understood their greatness 3/4) My Dad's He takes really bad care of them, I had to dig though piles of dust and random jewel case parts and burnt CDs |
My favourite Cream song is "white room"
|
I'm probably gonna get flamed to death for saying this, but i prefer Dereck and the Dominos over Cream.
