yeah it rules, but i can hear a lot of portal on the album. listen to the second half of 'Convoluting Unto Despondent Anachronism' and you'll hear what I mean

I wish that it was kept quieter about Impetuous sharing members with Portal. I think there would probably be much fewer comparisons about the place if so.

maybe but after listening to swarth a hundred times and then listening to that i definitely hear some similarities. and yea there's an incantation influence as well i guess.

I didn't know they shared members and I actually enjoy Impetuous Ritual

even without the knowledge there are some really glaring similarities, esp the one i mentioned to mike, the second half of the second song. that section is portal to the dot, and overall they're quite different and try to do different things but it's obvious at times that the same musicians are behind it.

One of the same musicians is behind it.

The similarities that can be heard are most closely related to Swarth, which is the the only Portal recording to feature this member. I'm not saying the similarities aren't there, I just think people read too much into it. Kind of a case of hearing it because they've been told it's there.
