Having bad teeth and fighting alot seems to help the stereotype.

Oh wait...that's Scotland

I believe that bad teeth is a British stereotype, rather than solely Scottish.

Dane Cook is halarious.

"Every time I hear a car alarm, I just feel like punching a baby. Hopefully I'll never be near a nursery when a car alarm goes off."

Cain 09-19-2005 03:53 PM

I heard that Dane Cook wasn't as funny on his new album. There were flaws apparent in his Comedy Central DVD, hilarious though it was: for instance, a lack of confidence in his material that caused him to do things like clap at his own jokes along with the audience; a tendency to act out in ridiculous ways when his material faltered, like his typical screaming stuff. Funny as hell the first time, but I hear that on the new album he overdid it.

Personally, I think he's funny, but I don't think he's a great comedian. His bits tend to rip off Cosby a LOT, and then he modernizes it with the antics and the swears.

Shadows 09-19-2005 03:56 PM

I've never heard his new album. He does go a litte overboard with the swearing though.

I've heard a lot of good stuff about Dane Cook, but never heard him perform...

I've noticed that myself.

And a few of my friends insist his stuff is better on his new album, but I don't see much of a difference. I can do with or without him.

Evening, all.

Today at work was very very boring.

But now I am stoned so it's all good.

No, I understand exactly what you mean. I just feel that as long as I'm getting all my work done, etc. then smoking a little grass won't hurt. But that's me, I have no problem with what anyone else does.

It's fine, really.

And I don't like the whole "Everybody must get stoned!" mentality that a lot of people have, but I could be misinterpreting what you're saying.

Dane Cook is good, but I know people who compare him to Chris Rock and Kinison, which is just... wrong.

He's not even the most overrated comic out there...I still can't quite wrap my mind around the appeal of Mitch Hedberg.

I like him, but I don't love him. I can't stand everyone going "ZOMG BESTEST COMEDIAN EVER", but yeah, I'd take him over Cook anyday. It's just the real drug-induced honesty and simplicity that he has is why so many people like him so much.

Alternatively, highlight the ones you like or something. I know I'm missing a lot of staple "classic" comedians, but this is just a pretty recent blend of comedians, so... yeah, heh.
