At your computer's end or your routers end? At the computer's end I don't know, but I've heard people say making a dish (kind of like a satellite dish) out of tin-foil will help "direct" the signal and can give better reception if your computer is in that direction.
If you have some cash on you and your computer support Wireless-N then go pick up an N-Router. Figure out how far you need and get a 150/300 depending which you really need.
i'm not really sure. i have a laptop and it has internal wifi. i just turn it on and bam interwebs lol that's about all i know... |
hey guys i have wireless internet. is there an attacment i can get to extend the range of the signal power i can get?
High gain antenna :smoke: |
Need to tweak my resume and apply for another job, going to play Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and guitar.
That kind of sums up my life right about now. Though yesterday I spent 5 or so hours cleaning my mother's GMC Envoy XL inside and out. The day prior spent about 3 on her Dodge Durango as it didn't need to be vacuumed. Might wash my 4Runner tonight, I did wash it about a week ago. It has just rained a lot so it got dirty. :upset:
lol soon you'll be hanging out at bingo and talking about shampoo products |
ha i use that windsurfer ariel thing
u prinf of the diagram and cut up the paper and wrap tinfoil, looks a bit crap but hey i can tell u straight up it freaking works i only use it if im on xbox live or streaming something or downloading, it does increase the speed a bit |
Make a cantenna, there should be a way to rig one up for a laptop. Also, I'm officially on spring break, **** yeah.
whats with the extra mag release on the trigger guard? |
You can get a massive aerial for you PC and router and extend your coverage a little. Nothing is gonna get a Wifi signal through 2-3 walls, though.
Anywhoos, planning 3 miles tomorrow then 10k (6.2miles) on Sunday. Work was well busy tonight, had to go full belt, pah. I'm getting swivel studs put on my rifle tomorrow so I can get a bench/prone bipod, for the accuracy. Check out my tacticool rifle I made on pimpmygun. Also watching Deep Blue Sea. Derp. How's everyone on MX tonight?
why are you running so much? and why are you running on consecutive days? |
AG are you putting little accessories on an airsoft gun
|
One question at a time ladies;
mnemonic: Because pimpmygun doesn't have bullpup lower recievers I had to combine two, so therefore a massive array of buttons/switches. Squiggs: Because I'm enjoying it and consecutive days is what I have available. The 3 miles will be a slow run, because the 10k is gonna be tough. I'm doing the Pier to Pier run in May which is 7.5 miles so I'm training a bit for that too. Brucey baby: It's not airsoft, it's an air rifle; .22 caliber lead leaving the muzzle at 900-1100 fps =/= .177 caliber light plastic ball leaving at 300fps. |
you have an air rifle that looks like that?
My god. Have the rabbits started shooting back or s/th? Or do you just use it to field strip and add bits to |
the most i'll do is sprint training on grass
running on concrete ****s your joints up no end and consecutive days **** that |
Man, I need to get going to the gym. I've put on weight this year - not much but enough to be noticeable. Strangely enough I've been more active than I've ever been, what with taking up hockey and such.... o.O
|
If you're aiming to lose weight don't bother with joining a gym.
There's plenty of free or FAR, FAR cheaper ways of doing exercise than being paying stupid amounts to access a treatmill or a shitty cross trainer. |
running on concrete ****s your joints up no end
I don't particularly beleive that. And with decent shoes/socks you can pretty much nullify the fact you're running on concrete.
and consecutive days **** that
If it were a perfect world I'd run every other day, indeed. Also that gun is just a gun I designed for fun on http://pimpmygun.doctornoob.com/app.php. It has nothign to do with real life. This is my air rifle:
If you're aiming to lose weight don't bother with joining a gym. Are you hanging around Newcastle after term finishes Mop? When my fitness levels are a bit better we can do some grass training. Nothing beats high intensity sprints + medicine ball + weight drags + pushups for losing weight. |
HIIT is all you need for fat loss.
And running on concrete ****s your joints no matter what you wear. Just cause you spend 200 quid on some fancy shoes that make your toes all lovely and comfy doesnt stop that. |
Support does nothing aye? I'd be better running barefoot?
Pah. Any sort of excersice ****s your joints, because our joints are not meant to last beyond 45-50 years. |
I didn't say supports nothing. I said the opposite.
It ****s your joints because it compacts your joints square on, much like when you land from a jump with straight legs. It's essentially blunt force trauma, with resistance at both ends. Sadly your joints give more than the concrete beneath your feet and take the force, or more specifically, damage, for it. Running on concrete is one of the worst exercises for your joint, arguably THE worst. Plenty of exercises are better for you. Swimming for example. Even weight-lifting is better for your joints. |

It took me half a year to recover though. |

I wouldn't recommend running to anyone! You've completely changed my mind. |
Funny statement actually, seeing as I try to actively discourage people from running. Esepcially when,
1. they want to lose weight 2. it's the only form of exercise they do. 3. theyre unhealthy, or worse, overweight. There's far more efficient things to do than running, it's almost a waste of time. |

Though most people leave out that "proper diet" thing. Which is why they fail. Basic principle of more calories in than out dooms them to failure. Besides, AG will never let his wife beat him running. So he has proper motivation. Granted a little sexist, but kind of a standard thing among males. |
Running is a poor way to lose weight.
Diet indeed is key, ut running is a bad approach. There's far better alternatives. |
Maybe it isn't the best form of cardio, but my limit knowledge in exercise puts cardio as what you want to do if you want to burn calories. Of course this can be through running, roller-blades, bikes, swimming, etc. etc. Really just depends what you enjoy the most I guess.
|
lmao rollerblading
cardio is working your cardiovascular system, as the name implies, which is different to fat loss |
Wtf. Fat loss is maths.
More work = more calories burnt More calories burnt = More calorie deficit More calorie defecit = fat burnt for energy. Running may not be the most effecient form of excersise but it's one of the most enjoyable. |
eat less excercise more is what i gathered as the easiest way of saying it but general decent diet change nice excersise and yer good
|
Wtf. Fat loss is maths.

I don't care either way cause i'm not fat so I zwn. |
lmao rollerblading
cardio is working your cardiovascular system, as the name implies, which is different to fat loss
As I said before, more calories burned than taken in will cause you to lose weight. Though the two major types of exercise I know of are cardio and weight training. Weight training isn't good for weight loss, it is good for muscle building. You can have all the muscle in the world, but if you have a layer of fat over it then you wont see it. C'mon man, what you gonna tell me next; cardio doesn't burn calories? |
What with my biochemistry degree, being a science teacher, and having boxed for years, all of this is so new to me.
i was laughing at the idea that the second idea you could muster was rollerblading and of course it burns calories, it uses energy, but in terms of FAT LOSS, its a weak tool |
i was laughing at the idea that the second idea you could muster was rollerblading
Now you're just trolling. Actually swimming was the second one that popped into my head, as I know a lot of people that do it. However I didn't list them as they came to my mind. Plus I didn't list things like Basketball, baseball, soccer, football, etc. because a lot of the physical exertion through those sports can be summed up as running. |
I'm not trolling, the second thing you listed was roller-blading.
And thats debatable; we're talking about running as in moderate distance jogging here, basketball etc is more like HIIT, which i mentioned above. Lmao baseball and "football" sports where you run a combined distance of about 200 metres over the course of a few hours |
Beckham ran 18 miles in some final sometime. I seem to rememebr.
|
lmao lfd you would list rollerblading
|
Beckham ran 18 miles in some final sometime. I seem to rememebr.
Fair figure but two things; it's a long distance over a prolonged time, different to me springs etc we were talking about earlier. And I believe he said football in reference to american football, so i put it in inverted commas. |
sup josh

sup squirrel
|
Not a lot, sat about letting my food go down. Aching a bit from boxing last night but other than that i'm chill.
How about you, hows things at your end? |
