:h5: any ideas on a rating? |
I think I'm going with a 4.5 the more I listen to it the more I realize how good they are at composing songs, and that they're superb musicians.

@Niflheim Gaahl can think whatever he wants, but I just thought it was really stupid to just reply with the word "Satan". He could have said something with a little more intellect, so that people might see things as he does. It's kind of like when Dee Snider went to court for the "explicit concepts and lyrics" of Twisted Sister and no one really took him seriously until he started to speak because of his image or whatever, but he presented such good arguments that the PMRC basically just shut the **** up.
Perhaps he doesn't feel the need to elaborate. I really don't think it would be worth his time to sit and explain everything. He's not obligated to, nor should he. To sum everything up in a word is, to me, a greater sign of this "intellect" you speak of then rambling on like an idiot for an hour explaining what you mean. Please do not put "Gaahl" and "Dee Snider" in the same sentence. Dee was enough of a whiner that compassionate people finally gave in. Gaahl does not have the need to be a little bitch. As with most good musicians, he says and does what he feels is necessary, and the rest of the world can screw themselves. |
Good choice, I'm pretty sure that's what I gave it as well... and everything you said about it there is basically right on. Be sure to mention how awesome the vocals are.

@Steve NP: Om- Unitive Knowledge of the Godhead
Do you honestly think I could write an Inquisition review without mentioning the vocals? |

I like them. Have you heard any other Inquisition releases thus far? |
No but I've been meaning to get one, which would you say is 2nd best? I doubt any of them beat ITIROTAC.
|
Get Magnificent Glorification of Lucifer, then Invoking the Majestic Throne of Satan. But yeah, you should probably get around to getting all the full-lengths at some time or another. They're all good.
|
I really wanna see them live, my cousin has and said it was awesome, plus they live like really close to me!
|
I bet they'd be quite a force live.
/chants TOUR! TOUR! TOUR! |
Okay, I'm absolutely terrible at starting my reviews so could someone help me revise this opening paragraph to make it sound less lame? This is all from the review I will be posting here on the forums so don't worry. After I get past the intro I'm usually fine coming up with stuff to say.
Inquisitions’ Into the Infernal Regions of the Ancient Cult, is essentially the definition of cult black metal. Everything about this album screams cult, from the lyrics about praising Satan to the album cover. This album on the other hand, is anything but your average black metal release, this album happens to be one of the most intricate and thoughtful black metal releases I have ever heard. Unlike a good deal of black metal you will not find endless tremolo riffing combined with constant blast beats. Instead, you will find yourself being dragged through an epic journey which does not rely on speed to keep you interested, but pure quality musicianship. |
*Inquisition's
I like it a lot actually. :thumb: but you need to find a good transition for your first paragraph |

I like it a lot actually. :thumb: but you need to find a good transition for your first paragraph
You want me to say Inquisition is Into the Infernal Regions of the Ancient Cult? I'm pretty sure when you put an apostrophe at the end of a word that makes it possessive. |
He means for it to not be after the S I think.
|
You want me to say Inquisition is Into the Infernal Regions of the Ancient Cult?
I'm pretty sure when you put an apostrophe at the end of a word that makes it possessive.
Inquisition's makes it possessive. If you are doing plural possessive (like if the band was named Inquisitions) then you would do what you are currently doing: Inquisitions'. :p |
Oh, yeah you would be correct, my mistake.
|
I'm going to download it :)
|
You would be wise to do so. :chug:
|
I'm going to download it :)
Yeah I think you will like it, there are some doom elements I would say, just know the vocals are very strange. But I actually like them. |
The vocals sound like a frog has an irritated throat and is trying to get rid of it by making a really thin droning noise into a microphone.
Vocals rule, tbh. |
Haha sounds interesting.
I want to educate myself to black metal some more, any releases that you guys feel are pivotal? I don't really have much at all. |
I have not listened to the entire album that I have, but I don't see what is so amazing about these vocals.
|
I have not listened to the entire album that I have, but I don't see what is so amazing about these vocals.
I wouldn't really call them amazing, I just think they rule is all. Plus, Inquisition is hardly a band you listen to for the vocals alone. |
They're not really amazing, they're just really different. Which is why I like them
ATM: Basilisk- A Joyless March Through the Cold-Lands Beherit- Drawing Down the Moon Darkthrone- Transilvanian Hunger/Under A Funeral Moon/A Blaze In The Northern Sky Burzum- Pretty much all... Mayhem- Deathcrush |

lmao @ that idiot thinking he'll get 33 bucks for that tape.
You're probably going to end up buying it you overgrown faggot. About the vocals: Alright then. I just remember everyone being like omg omg the vocals. I will give the album a good listen eventually. Not in the mood now. I listened to Profanatica's new release today. On first impression, I think it is more consistent then Havohej's Dethrone the Son of God. |
Seriously though, any really well-known black metal release that was in the first or second wave is usually pretty damn good.
Satyricon- Nemesis Divina @Chris |
You should still bid on it.
^^^This. I tried to throw in a couple personal favourites. |
Nah. There's a cheaper one that I might buy, but it will cost around 16 bucks for everything after shipping and stuff. There are currently no bids and it has like 4 days until it's over, so I'm gonna wait it out and really think about it.
I better have received my Mutiilation tape in the mail. I haven't got to checking it, but I have some negative feedback to be giving if it's not there. |

I think I might get this, I would love to at least own some kind of copy of my all time favorite album. |
That album is fairly easy to find in labels and distros. I wouldn't order it off Ebay :-/

Yeah I know, I just think it would be kinda cool to have on tape, I would much much rather have it on vinyl though... oh what I would pay... |
