i'm in a metal band right now, and i pretty much hate it.

every step we take in a good direction, it gets set back five paces. because they're retards and listen to the same five bands.

so i'm going to quit once i get my four track back. maybe start a different band, or just do everything myself.
Heh, my current project's main focus is just really generic and fun... we know it's not original, whatever.

Basically, faster Darkest Hour + TTEOTD style vocals.

TojesDolan 11-27-2006 10:10 AM
lol pixies.

Problem is, does anyone here actually *want* to mod? It seems like kind of a poisoned chalice... you get the post, then you stop posting. :-/

EDIT: Mod Sonorken!
Exactly. The only responsability is spending an hour "moderating, and then the rest is just acting as if you weren't a mod, making crits and posting your pieces.

=o

i am the robots 11-27-2006 10:17 AM

Tojes, you the only one on right now?

Regardless... I need to write right now, like I feel like I really need to, but I just can't get anything out.

LOLEMO.

Blah.

Best pun I've heard all day.

TojesDolan 11-27-2006 11:29 AM

Yeah I'm on. Everyone is on.

Eliminator 11-27-2006 11:33 AM

what

Surf 11-27-2006 11:34 AM

I'm on for another twenty or so minutes, then off to the creative writing class thing.

In related news, the student magazine which publishes all the poetry and stuff came out today. I got a page to myself with three pieces on it, so I'm having a good day. :)

i am the robots 11-27-2006 11:35 AM

Nice mang.

TojesDolan 11-27-2006 11:53 AM

Good for you!

I have programming test in 20 minutes. Worth 30% or my grade.

LOL

i am the robots 11-27-2006 12:14 PM

Good luck with that, laddy.

Surf 11-27-2006 01:37 PM

Programming is far too complex. I'm basically doing reading.

But still a degree is a degree, especially since I'm at a good university.

Its an excuse to not get a job for three years. More if I go for Masters, PhD etc.

TojesDolan 11-27-2006 03:13 PM

Eh, I just want to get working and making money so I can spend it on cheap whores, guitars, amps, drums, basses and other instruments, alcohol and stuff o I can get sad and write more songs.

Isn't that Tom Delonge's writeup for the next Angels and Airwaves album? :p

Kind of reminds me of what I'm working on right now... well, a single line that I hope to use in something.

"I am a coward, awaiting disease with open arms,"

I'm so repetative.

Too bad you suck. And Converge doesn't.

Migraines 11-27-2006 04:22 PM

Wow... will people stop posting in the Greatest Songwriters thread?

TojesDolan 11-27-2006 04:31 PM

People like to discuss that kind of things. It kinda builds a community.
Too bad you suck. And Converge doesn't.
Too bad Jake's voice is giving out and mine isn't.

OH SHI!

I'm pissed, Converge was supposed to play in Philly on the 30th, but the show got canceled. :upset:

They're gonna play in my town on December 7th?

I'm not sure, but the kid who drums in the "band" I'm trying to get started's other band is opening.

pixiesfanyo 11-27-2006 09:07 PM

^ I know they cancelled. I've been waiting to see Converge for like two years now.

i am the robots 11-27-2006 09:26 PM

Damn, that sucks.... I saw them at SOTU over the summer... amazing, though Jake was a bit weak. I was planning on seeing them on the 30th and at the local show, but I guess two times in one year is good enough.

TojesDolan 11-27-2006 09:32 PM

I'm still trying to figure out why they say Converge's "Jane Doe" is the heaviest album and stuff. =/

I don't really disregard them as a band though, maybe I just need to spend time listening to them.

Eliminator 11-27-2006 09:33 PM

i dunno man the song is pretty damn heavy

i am the robots 11-27-2006 09:36 PM

I think it's just in the way it starts out with Concubine.

Migraines 11-28-2006 06:29 PM

Does anyone know why Eleventeen got banned?

TojesDolan 11-28-2006 06:38 PM

Spamming, I think.

SubtleDagger 11-28-2006 07:23 PM

Eleventeen gets banned all the time

Also Jane Doe is the heaviest metal album ever

RunAmokRampant 11-28-2006 07:56 PM

If it aint the most heaviest, it's definitely the most brutal sounding record on the planet. I reckon we should send out a copy into space and see what the aliens think.

TojesDolan 11-28-2006 08:01 PM

Until I listen to the album, I'm reluctant to believe so.

SubtleDagger 11-28-2006 08:09 PM

Until you listen to the album your opinion really doesn't mean that much anyway :|

**** you

Surf 11-28-2006 09:12 PM

The 'g's make it look cool. You have too many harsh, straight letters; makes it look agressive whereas Burt's name has soft rounded letters making him look warm and approachable.
