My first album was TOT. I then got 6DoIT and IaW and Awake.
|
I like surrounded the best On I&W....
OK...I just like the intro and the end with JLB's voice being as emotional as I have ever heard it. |
My first DT album was Awake. It was cool because my bass teacher gave me the album so I could learn 6:00 and Scarred. It didn't click with me right away, but I soon was able to see their brillance.
|
The easiest way to get me into a band is to give me a song of theirs with a huge catchy chorus, and I'll go from there...
So pull me under was fantastic for that... |

OK...I just like the intro and the end with JLB's voice being as emotional as I have ever heard it.
I like the keyboard part when the drums kick in and I like the line: "It's been a long long time/he's had a while to think it over/in the end he only sees the change: Light to dark, dark to light, light to dark, dark to light" haha, awesome :) |
My first was SFAM, then i picked up Awake, and though i didnt really strike me at first, its really growing on me... I still feel SFAM is better though IMO...
im hoping to pick up I&W and 6DOIT soon however... |
It's the "tonight I'll still be lying here, surrounded...in all..the light."
bit that's just beautiful to me. |
Listen to the intro of Father to Son by Queen... sound familiar?
(I reaslise a lot of you won't have the song but it sounds just like the intro to Surrounded) |
:D Awake is starting to grow on me now. I love every song on the album and I'm listening to it all the time (even during lessons at school...yes, I am a badass:naughty: ). I think the Silent Man is pretty cheezy though:lol: .

I agree with you there, never been too sure about that song. |
I'm considering The Silent Man for my GCSE piece. it's bound to get me a better grade than those doing Wake me up When September ends and Californication.

 Why, were you going to do them songs??? |
I think he meant other people are doing them.

Ahh good:lol: . I thought you were a traitor the great DT... I'm watching you... |
 Why, were you going to do them songs???
No but I bet tons of the people in his class are planning to. |
The DT song I've been listening to most recently - Lifting Shadows Off A Dream
Beautiful song, superb lyrics from JM. |
Innocence Faded, The Mirror, Lie, Lifting Shadows of a Dream, Space-Dye vest and Voices...all class songs off a class album
|
Voices is the only song that I enjoy on Awake, I got into it cause it goes from Octavarium to that on Once In a Livetime on winamp, so I always listen to it.

Innocence Faded, The Mirror, Lie, Lifting Shadows of a Dream, Space-Dye vest and Voices...all class songs off a class album
Your opinions changed quickly... |

Yeah, everyone thinks that a popular easy song gets them good marks. |
Yeah, everyone thinks that a popular easy song gets them good marks.
You should do the Dance of Eternity  What do you actually have to do? |
You should do the Dance of Eternity
What do you actually have to do?
We have to record a 3-5 minute song for our GCSEs it counts for 20% or 30% of it, I forget which. DOE is a tad too long. |
Yeah, everyone thinks that a popular easy song gets them good marks.
I find it quite sad that some people won't play the perfect song to their ability because they don't like the song. They just end up playing something stupidly easy like green day and just waste their GCSE. |

Exactly, they're chosing Green Day over a grade piece which could get them a higher mark. If the DT plan fails I'll play a piece my guitar teacher gave me. I don't know what grade it is but he said played perfectly it will get me an A* |
Trapped
in side this dream the at er thread same syllables... haha Green day? what a bunch of losers... |

NP: Tool - Sober
Because it's cool... |
i got A* for music GCSE  two 30/30 compositions.
the secret is to keep it simple
I'm doing GCSE music at the moment and I've got 29/30 for my composition and 28/30 for my practical exam. I made mine as hard as I could, then it made all the simple ones look bad:naughty: . |
Could someone send me Spock's Beard - Snow please?
|
Way hey, I am the top poster in this thread. All bow down to the master of the DT thread.
Now who's the newbie...MUHAAHAA:lol: HAAHAAHAAHAA.....me:upset:. I do not have that Spock's Beard song, but if I did I would send it you, me being the king of the DT thread and all:naughty: . |

Enough to satisfy my live requirements:naughty: . |
So today, in music class, we watched this video of the 2003 Drum Festival or something. So, as a joke, I asked if Mike Portney was on it, and my music teacher responds "Yeah, that guy's awesome." So for the last five minutes of class we got to watch DT play Dance of Eternity.

No way! My teacher wouldn't have a clue who anyone that isn't German or something is that I like. He always says to us, "you all listen to pop music that is always in 4/4". So I took him in some DT and he was away that day...:upset: . |
My theory teacher likes DT. :D
I have undertaken attempting to learn Home...I have up to the verse part so far, the open D chords part. The song's not too hard, barring the fact that there are some impossible runs up the neck, and the solo will cause my hands to spontaneously shatter. |

Why doesn't anyone like/have heard of DT at my school. I only know one person at my school who likes them....:upset: . The music teachers at my school don't like anything apart from classical. |
