You don't like Rob Halford? Do you mean singing Sabbath's songs or you just don't like him in general?

shadow_stalker 06-11-2005 03:56 AM

I find his voice annoying, especially on that version of supernaut andy posted a while ago.

rippa32 06-11-2005 04:01 AM

I never heard it. But anyway did you hear about the gig Sabbath just did in England?

shadow_stalker 06-11-2005 04:02 AM

The secret one?

rippa32 06-11-2005 04:06 AM

Yeah I think so it was just a small one. Anyhoo apparently during Into The Void Ozzy started singing a verse from Electric Funeral.

shadow_stalker 06-11-2005 04:08 AM

lol, i wonder if that was a mistake or not...

AA-12 06-11-2005 04:08 AM

You hate Halford

rippa32 06-11-2005 04:19 AM
lol, i wonder if that was a mistake or not...
It was, apparently Geezer just started laughing and Iommi had this look on his face that said "What the fuk are you doing?"

shadow_stalker 06-11-2005 04:22 AM
You hate Halford
Don't hare him, hate his vocal style, that annoying high pitched thing pisses me off.

shadow_stalker 06-11-2005 04:23 AM
It was, apparently Geezer just started laughing and Iommi had this look on his face that said "What the fuk are you doing?"
 At least he did it here and not at download. But then again Iommi always has that expression on his face.

rippa32 06-11-2005 04:28 AM

lol I suppose. I once heard a story about some guy who said Iommi looks Italian, and Iommi knocked him out.

shadow_stalker 06-11-2005 04:31 AM

I wouldn't put it psat him.

Anyone know the names of the rhythm guitarist and saxaphone player that played for sabbath during the earth days?

rippa32 06-11-2005 04:49 AM

No do you? oh and I thought they only played for polka tulk and then left before the name change.

Brew 06-11-2005 08:00 AM

I've got no idea, I could look it up though.

FunFact: Ozzy didn't play harmonica on Never Say Die!, someone else did. If anyone has the cd and the notes credit Ozz for the harmonica they're wrong. :)

I came about <---> that close to going to the secret show, but I wasn't allowed because it was 4 days before my Physics AS.

Brew 06-11-2005 08:10 AM

Hey look, its another Size 7 post about our covers!

'sup.

Ok...we still haven't really gotten our arses in gear for this, I'm guessing that I'm being left to choose the song(s) so...we'll rip-off the Iron Maiden thread and do about 4 or 5.

Sound good?

If any of you guys want to do drums/vocals post here quick, otherwise I'll do them (drums) on Cubase when I go back to school in about a weeks time.

Songs, in order.

Heaven and Hell/Paranoid ( )
NIB
Iron Man
The Warning (only a small chunk of it)

So there we have it.

I think i_am_jimmy_page is doing guitars, but if anyone of you more regular folk want to do it then that should be alright I guess...

Anyway, discuss.

Wow.

rippa32 06-12-2005 06:53 PM

Hey does anyone know if Black Sabbath will play at Live 8 like they did with Live Aid?

shadow_stalker 06-13-2005 05:00 AM
http://guitargeek.com/rigview/476/

Wow.
I have no idea what all that means but it looks complicated...

shadow_stalker 06-13-2005 05:01 AM
No do you? oh and I thought they only played for polka tulk and then left before the name change.
Im not really sure when they played it says their names in either the reunion album cover or their old manager says it on the interview with him on vol 1 dvd.

rippa32 06-13-2005 06:01 AM

Have you seen ozzy from that era? His hair is hilarious.

White_heat 06-13-2005 06:29 PM
Whats wrong with Gillans voice?
I think that it doesn't match with sabbath, and Born again wasn't to good because of it.

But he is awsome with Deep Purple

RustedPieces 06-13-2005 07:11 PM

How is Iommi's solo stuff? Any good?

rippa32 06-13-2005 09:16 PM

Well Iv only heard samples of the Iommi album which is alright but nothing compared to sabbath and it sounds completely different too, his new one with Glenn Hughes should be good though.

rippa32 06-14-2005 06:32 AM

Hey I found Seventh Star on vinyl for A$20 on ebay. Do ya reckon it would be worth it?

Brew 06-14-2005 07:27 AM

^It might be worth it. I'm not too sure.

Josh 06-14-2005 03:09 PM
Hey does anyone know if Black Sabbath will play at Live 8 like they did with Live Aid?
that would be pretty cool...

rippa32 06-14-2005 09:23 PM

It would, although they would only play Paranoid and Iron Man.

shadow_stalker 06-16-2005 02:22 AM

Maybe play war pigs.

shadow_stalker 06-16-2005 02:36 AM
Former Black Sabbath bassist Neil Murray will be having surgery next
month for carpal tunnel syndrome. Tony Iommi had the same thing some
years ago, had the operation, and came through it fine - so here's to
hoping all goes well for Mr. Murray.

Here's something Neil wrote himself about the situation:

M3 bassist Neil Murray (ex-WHITESNAKE, BLACK SABBATH) will be out of
action during July as he has to have an operation on his left wrist
for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, which affects the movement in his
fingers. He will be temporarily replaced for M3's festival
appearance at Open Air Hamburg Harley Days Festival on July 16 by
David Levy, who has worked with M3 guitarists Bernie Marsden and
Micky Moody (both ex-WHITESNAKE) many times before. Neil should be
back playing in the QUEEN musical "We Will Rock You" by the
beginning of August and will return for the M3 "classic WHITESNAKE"
gigs in Bildein (Austria) and Heidenheim (Germany) on August 26 and
August 27, respectively.
Never really knew any of the guys work, but get well soon all the same.

rippa32 06-16-2005 04:53 AM

He played on the TYR album and Forbidden I think. You have TYR dont you? Speaking of TYR does anyone know how to pronounce it?

Brew 06-16-2005 10:07 AM

Tee-err.

Think ''Tor'', but with two E's in the middle.

I just say T Y R.

I'm back at school on Monday, I want to know which songs you guys want to cover for the comp, I'm open to anything I really don't mind. I'll program the drums on Cubase.

AA-12 06-16-2005 10:09 AM

I just say it as T Y R also.

shadow_stalker 06-16-2005 11:08 AM

I have TYR but dont like it so i dont listen to it much.

Brew 06-16-2005 12:25 PM

Its probably the best Martin-era MkI album.

rippa32 06-16-2005 06:49 PM

I was thinking yuo could cover TV Crimes. That has one awesome riff and the bass is some of the best ive heard out of Geezer.

AA-12 06-16-2005 06:51 PM

I would like to see Solitude done. I just personally think it's an awesome song.

In other news, I have defeated Andy in the battle of the amps. I remember when he posted a while back and said his amp went to 12, well I noticed mine goes to 15. Spinal Tap'd.

White_heat 06-16-2005 09:30 PM
Its probably the best Martin-era MkI album.
Really? Someone told me it was really bad, the only Martin album I have is Headless Cross

shadow_stalker 06-17-2005 03:15 AM
Its probably the best Martin-era MkI album.
I think its pretty **** terrible, headless cross owns it in everyway (in my god-like opinion)

shadow_stalker 06-17-2005 03:20 AM

How many songs you guys actually doing?

Also i don't believe you have an amp that goes to 15.

Brew 06-17-2005 08:21 AM

Josh -

stalker - you fayle at being a god and its Over the Mountain.

white heat - TYR is my personal fav. from the MkI Martin era, Headless Cross was a bit cheesy in some places whereas TYR is brilliance right through. Kinda power-metal-ish aswell, which is what I like.

Can any of you guys sing?
