I don't know, I think you'd get RIP at half the speed with a million harmonics, nothing wrong with Pantera but I <3 RIP.
Pantera rule, but RIP is one of my all time favourite albums, and i couldn't imagine it any other way.

I prefer Menza over Vinnie Paul. I don't think people realize how good Menza was during Rust.

Same here, Menza's probably my favourite drummer.

FlyingPaul_83 09-02-2005 03:11 PM

The intro to rust in peace is awesome :thumb:

Endless Obsession 09-02-2005 03:14 PM

So any suggestions for the new thread name?

My vote is Thread 18.

Jev 09-02-2005 03:15 PM

So Far So Good So What?
NO wait
Into the lungs of hell?

Mazeppa 09-02-2005 03:44 PM

We should call it Hangar 18, nobody really knows what goes on in here.
My vote is Thread 18.
Also good.

FlyingPaul_83 09-02-2005 03:45 PM

yeah^^^
So any suggestions for the new thread name?

No one would know that it was a Megadeth thread though. It should be Shadow of Deth or something like that, or something a little more obvious.
No one would know that it was a Megadeth thread though. It should be Shadow of Deth or something like that, or something a little more obvious.
They would just have to read the first page of the thread and it would be fairly obvious what the thread was about.

Five Magics 09-02-2005 05:01 PM

The thread name for Megadeth could be: "The Arsenal of Megadeth"

superflyjojo 09-02-2005 05:07 PM

Can someone upload Mechanix? I've heard its way better than The Four Horsemen, and I'd like to compare.

.Realm.of.Chaos. 09-02-2005 05:21 PM

5 days til I get to see Megadeth!! I'm so stoked!!! Anyone else here goingto Gigantour in Calgary, AB?

MAthiAS 09-02-2005 07:16 PM

Thread 18 would definitely be the best thread name. If people haven't heard Hangar 18, they shouldn't even be in the thread anyway, so its perfect.

Then if it gets closed, we can have 'Return to Thread' :D

Apocalyptic Raids 09-02-2005 07:20 PM

My vote is either Thread 18 or Hangar 18.

MAthias:

Apocalyptic Raids 09-04-2005 07:54 AM

So should I ask to get the thread name changed to Thread 18?

DimebagDarrell 09-04-2005 08:17 AM
Yeah, probably.

Better question, what if Dimebag and Vinnie had joined up instead of Marty and Nick when they were asked?
As far as i remember Dave only wanted Dime and Dime wouldnt join unless vinnie was allowed too as well so it didnt work out.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-04-2005 08:29 AM

I can't imagine Dime and Vinnie on RIP. It just wouldn't work. I could imagine them on something like Countdown though...

MAthiAS 09-04-2005 09:47 AM
As far as i remember Dave only wanted Dime and Dime wouldnt join unless vinnie was allowed too as well so it didnt work out.
Yeah, because Dave had already hired Nick.
I can't imagine Dime and Vinnie on RIP. It just wouldn't work. I could imagine them on something like Countdown though...
Same... I can't imagine Dime playing a thrash album.
So should I ask to get the thread name changed to Thread 18?
Go for it.

RustedPieces 09-04-2005 09:54 AM

I went to Gigantour yesterday and it was amazing. Since it was Dream Theatre's last show, during Peace Sells, the drummer for Megadeth played guitar and Mike Portnoy came out and played drums . It was awesome. I was front row centre too.

I was just at Gigantour last night in Toronto. It was amazing! Believe me, you'll fucking love the show.

That's the same one I was at ! I was a bit far back, but I still had an excellent view.

RustedPieces 09-04-2005 09:57 AM

Yeah that was an amazing show.

WheepingGuitar39 09-04-2005 10:06 AM

I saw Megadeth in Montreal.
I was never really a fan of Megadeth.. actually I was never really a fan of metal.
But I think I'm a metalhead now.. I've been listening to Megadeth for the last 2 days.

Megadeth OWNED. Those **** fireworks were the best.
And there is nothing better than turning 18 while Dave Mustaine is pulling a solo with the flag of quebec wrapped around him, singing in french.

Pure ownage.

Jev 09-04-2005 10:08 AM

I didn't get fireworks :(

WheepingGuitar39 09-04-2005 10:16 AM
I didn't get fireworks :(
well the Montreal concert is the one that will be on DVD maybe thats why
but .. the fireworks looked like a petrol factory spitting fire.. (I was sitting like 10 rows away and I could feel the intense heat on my face).
But that wasnt the bad part, the explosions werent .. BOOM.
they were.. PAAAAAF.
Like a firecracker.. but 10 000x louder.
It was insane.

RustedPieces 09-04-2005 10:19 AM

Mine had the fireworks too. Scared me a few times, they were so damn loud! And I could feel the heat off of the fire.

It was cool when Fear Factory played Walk for a tribute to Dimebag.

Cool. I will definately be buying the DVD.

MAthiAS 09-04-2005 11:08 AM

I didn't get fireworks either, just pyro.

FlyingPaul_83 09-04-2005 11:11 AM

Yeah, but the Pyro was freakin awesome.

fatbandit 09-04-2005 02:01 PM

So I just bought PSBWB.

My analysis?

Its about 50/50 good and bad IMO.

Doesn't stack up to RIP (but then, from what I hear, few metal albums do), but it still has some nice choons.

I'm loving Peace Sells, Good Mourning/Black Friday and My Last Words mostly.

Though I Ain't Superstitious ruins the flow somewhat for me. It doesn't sound very Megadethy.

More hard rock/blues kind of thing :|

:smash:

FlyingPaul_83 09-04-2005 02:02 PM

I Ain't Superstitious is a cover

what about the conjuring, or devils island?

very awesome songs

fatbandit 09-04-2005 02:04 PM

That would explain a lot.

They were okay, but didn't leap out as eat-your-face catchy metal choons like Take No Prisoners, say.

TNP isn't catchy, its just kickass.

Peace Sells is very overrated, but its still good. Wake Up Dead, The Conjuring, Peace Sells, and Devil's Island being the highlights IMO.

fatbandit 09-04-2005 02:35 PM

Wake Up Dead didn't catch my attention so much.

The Conjuring didn't really sink in as a song much. Just kind of went in one ear out the other.

What album is recommendable as a next purchase?
