DTing is not as hard as people tell you.
It's also not as useful as people tell you. :p

DTing?

Jody LeCompte 03-17-2007 12:17 PM

123.

Although I do like the "My thumb is fused to my strings" thing Marcus Miller has going on. I'm blaring silver rain

PaulSimonon 03-17-2007 12:18 PM
DTing?
Double thumping...

Def. agreed Ben. I can DT with ease, but I'm still a basket of shit-filled hamburger buns covered in piss poppyseeds at playing bass.

Jody LeCompte 03-17-2007 12:18 PM

I think my ear is getting a bit better.

I just figured out the guitar in Stu Hamms ...remember.

pukeboy66 03-17-2007 12:18 PM

I've been pimping out Marcus Miller for years... no one ever listens :upset:

Jody LeCompte 03-17-2007 12:19 PM

Your fat, I assumed it was a new value meal at McDonalds

Mad <3.

Spaceman Spiff 03-17-2007 12:20 PM

Practice...

Actually practicing and not just wishing will get you there a lot quicker.

Jody LeCompte 03-17-2007 12:20 PM

Stu Hamms tone is so nice, it makes me want to kill soup for his urge bass.

Trevo 03-17-2007 12:21 PM

Any have some good lessons for DTing?

Spaceman Spiff 03-17-2007 12:21 PM

Marcus Miller is so boring. Maybe if he wrote some interesting music then I would listen him.

Jody LeCompte 03-17-2007 12:21 PM

Just thump out some scales.

Then show ol victa a trick, play ya bass without using a pick

pukeboy66 03-17-2007 12:22 PM

When did Soup get a ****ing Urge?

Spaceman Spiff 03-17-2007 12:22 PM
Any have some good lessons for DTing?
Just practice scales until you have the hang of it. That's how I learned. That, and practicing the intro to Classical Thump.

Jody LeCompte 03-17-2007 12:22 PM

Before I got my fretless.

He wouldnt tell me why he was selling the fretless, turns out my old bass teacher was selling an urge and I would have snatched it up so fast.

Urge basses don't belong in grunge.

Yeah. I can DT, too, but I can't find any use for it. Maybe I just suck at song writing.

Jody LeCompte 03-17-2007 12:24 PM

My girlfriend likes your music, Ben?

BenJammin 03-17-2007 12:27 PM
My girlfriend likes your music, Ben?
That's... really weird. :|

Spaceman Spiff 03-17-2007 12:27 PM

I want to try a Warwick Thumb sixer.

I've never played a Warwick...

Jody LeCompte 03-17-2007 12:27 PM

I had it playing when she came over a few weeks ago.

EDIT: My warwick is hot sex on my fingers, I still love it.

My fender, however, Im currently in disagreements with.

irishslappop 03-17-2007 12:28 PM

DTing is overrated. i say that because when ever i do it me urge to kill someone rises.

I see. I thought you hated my music.

Jody LeCompte 03-17-2007 12:29 PM

Not your music in particular, but usually all solo bass.

I've taken a particular liking to more band oriented solo bass lately though(IE Stu Hamm's outbound) and I had your stuff playing.

EDIT: 200 tracks with a different effect, you might as well have the St. Louis orchestra playing with you

I don't really look at myself as a solo bassist. I happen to use bass as my medium for making music just because I suck at playing other stuff.

Ting 03-17-2007 12:55 PM

Great I broke me metronome

Jody LeCompte 03-17-2007 12:55 PM

Fair enough

I'm looking at getting a mic for my looper so I can start to include other stuff, like my uke, and my djembe, and random percussion. Lulz. One man band.

Spaceman Spiff 03-17-2007 12:58 PM

I'm listening to Nirvana... w00t.
