Vocals are great. I wish some of the songs had the harsh, dynamic electro moments like the self titled. Still a great album. I need to give it a one more proper listen.
Listened through this once, and about to go through again. This album is pretty good
Growing on me pretty fast.
don't know why I never bothered to listen to Yndi Halda before today. It's remarkable.
i wish ellis the vacuumchild didnt break up
Back from the TWDY + ASIWYFA gig. Holy ****, it was amazing. ASIWYFA was probably one of the best live performances I've ever seen. Also bought a limited edition vinyl and their album.
ive started to enjoy ASIWYFA's album more and more each time i hear it, but i think i would like them alot more live than on cd. they just seem like one of those bands.
yeah, definitely. they don't sound like one of those bands to me tbh, they have great song writing skills and really proggy sections.

thats awesome, i'm pretty jealous, sounded like an awesome show to go to |
May have missed it, but add Caspian to the list... simply amazing.
The new Caspian was a bit of a letdown.
I'd dearly like to see Crippled Black Phoenix live.

ah ok! you like the bass player :-) ...and what about the music? :-) |
I think I heard some Sigur Ros on the last episode of V. Just thought I'd share that.

working through some Mogwai at the moment
anyone like Kyte? i'm relistening to their self titled, I didn't like it much first time round but it's pretty good
will check em out
listened to tons of Explosions last night, so good |
explosions is pretty good, but whenever they wrote most of the music for Friday Night Lights, every meathead around started listening to them (at least around me), asking me if i ever heard of them lol like they discovered them and kept telling 'that they are sooooo goodoood' lol. idk, just sorta turned me off from listening to them. stupid, but w/e first breath after a coma is an awesome song though
i've only heard one of their albums and it bored me to tears :(
mogwai is sort of doing that to me as well, though I liked Young Team more than their second album. it's usually the kind of stuff which is just simple guitar patterns and melodies, with not much else going on that most people seem to claim is making so much out of so little I can't really see anything in. so, trying to break into post rock. I guess i'm up for a lot of ho-hum until I find the good stuff |
yea, there is some post rock out there that is alright when served as background music, but thats about it
i enjoy the genre, godspeed is excellent imo, but there is a lot of plain/boring post rock available |
I liked Talk Talk, Spirit of Eden was nice, Mutyumu's Il Ya was excellent as well. I guess I prefer post rock that is bit more vibrant and exciting with timbral textures, the sort of dreary lo-fi stuff with tremelo picked guitars building up to a climax where some distortion kicks in comes off as dull.

I agree with you on that one with one major exception. Yndi Halda. If you haven't, check them out. They kind of fit the mold of that Explosions type, but they're really (really) good. Enjoy Eternal Bliss is like a perfect album |
i'll look into them, thanks
