Five magics, Take no prisoners, hangar 18

acefrehleyjendell 06-01-2005 05:54 PM

If anyone's seeing Megadeth on their up-coming european tour, look out
for the support band Dungeon, they kick major ***, probably the best Australian metal band ever.

vashts80 06-01-2005 06:13 PM

I know most of the Megadeth songs in the vocal department, but I'm like, the shittiest singer ever. :\

Well its better then no vocals.

MAthiAS 06-01-2005 07:11 PM

I could do Holy Wars or Take No Prisoners on guitar. Maybe we could try and get some rough tracks at least up here this weekend to see what we've got going.

RustedPieces 06-01-2005 07:12 PM

If you guys did Take No Prisoners and pull it off I would be impressed.

Sausage_Wielder 06-03-2005 09:38 AM

Are you going to do vocals or leave those out?

fatbandit 06-03-2005 10:04 AM

Well, give me a song still, and I'll have a look at it, but as long as we remain undecided, its going to be hard.

MAthiAS 06-03-2005 10:46 AM

How long do we have to do this thing?

fatbandit 06-03-2005 10:49 AM

I'm not sure. I'd need something generous to learn a Megadeth song from scratch anyway, a few days probably, without a big run at it (exam time next week). I think we'll have enough time though, I don't think the other threads are doing too well in this stage either.

MAthiAS 06-03-2005 10:54 AM

I've got exams coming up in a couple weeks, so maybe I can squeeze in a recording before them or after them I'll have loads of time.

fatbandit 06-03-2005 11:05 AM

Right, well I'll buy a Megadeth CD soon to get listening to some of these tracks. Suggestions?

MAthiAS 06-03-2005 12:09 PM

Rust in Peace

MegaMustaine 06-03-2005 01:31 PM

Yeah, basically everything people are suggesting is from RIP.

Referring to Alice_In_Chains, I don't understand how you guys responded to his question. Vocals- Yes? No?

Rust in peace or peace sells...but who's buying :thumb:

LarsAgi007 06-03-2005 04:13 PM

I have just bought my first Megadeth CD a few days ago, I cannot think of mind what CD it is, it has 1000 times goodbye on it, Promises, I think 11 tracks, A really good album though :thumb:

Countdown to Extinction is the album that got me into them :thumb:
The World Needs A Hero.
Yes, thats the one.. Its really good, Mustain is more skilled on guitar than I thought... Are any of his solos faster than the ones on the album I have do you know? Not that its important or anything...

Nice, I love Return To Hanger. If you haven't already, try get a song called Hanger 18, and spot the similarities. :D

Lateralias 06-04-2005 12:52 AM

I didn't like Return to Hanger 18 on Rude Awakening DVD... kinda ruined Hanger 18 for me... they didn't flow well together for some reason

ThrashMaster27 06-04-2005 02:09 AM

Hmmm, I'm not too keen on The World Needs A Hero. Probably not the best album to get started on Megadeth. Return To Hangar is a borefest for me until the breakdown and I agree it does kind of spoil Hangar 18.

Yes, Daves soloing is faster in earlier albums, but not quite as good if you ask me.

Dude, why enter for Megadeth when you aren't very familiar with them?

ThrashMaster27 06-04-2005 09:04 AM
Why does everyone spell it 'Hanger' its 'Hangar'
I suppose it's much like Metallica fans spelling Kirks Hammett's name wrong.

Apocalyptic Raids 06-04-2005 09:54 AM

When people say "Hangar", it sounds like "Hanger".

For me anyway :D

MegaMustaine 06-04-2005 09:59 AM

No one answered my question

recording- will there be a person singing the lyrics? or is it just instrumental?
