eh?

i think i'm drunk.. but i didn't drink anything

manuscriptreplica 07-14-2004 01:19 PM

It's 4:47am, and I can't sleep :( I dunno what's going on, you've confused me.

Shady Ultima 07-14-2004 01:20 PM

Yes I'm the singer, the bass solo is partially my own and I 'borrowed' the primus cover of Master of Puppets. As for the scream, I don't hit the high part, but I do do the scream like he does it live, now.

manuscriptreplica 07-14-2004 01:27 PM

Lol, that scream sucks when he does it live now. You expect this high pitch scream, and all you get is this "UUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHRAGHRAGHHHARH!!!!"

I can occasionally get there, but I am of large proportions (6'6) so when I do get there, it is extremely falsetto, and as a result, sounds quite bad.

manuscriptreplica 07-14-2004 01:28 PM

But good on ya. I can hardly sing and play at the same time.

 i'm sorry. i'm confused too... :-/

Shady Ultima 07-14-2004 01:32 PM

I'll see if I can record me doin it at a practice let you guys judge it, but I don't like how it sounds, so I don't really even bother. I love the song anyways.

Manuscriptreplica, how long have you been playing?

Girl-Playing-Bass 07-14-2004 01:40 PM

dude! when they played it live at dynamo, he totally nailed the high pitch scream! It was like:

"IIEIIEIIEIEIIEIEIIEEIIEIEIIIUUUAAAUUAAAAAAARRRRGHHH"

it kicked ass! God! I love tom

DisposableHeroes 07-14-2004 01:55 PM

he can still hit it? Good

Shady Ultima 07-14-2004 01:59 PM

I didnt think he could. Well hopefully when (if) I got to Ozzfest he'll hit it, I'll be dissapointed if he doesn't either way tho, it's still kick *** song, even when he doesn't do that scream, I'll still be rocking out.

DisposableHeroes 07-14-2004 02:00 PM

yup, i'll be seeing them in october so hopefully old man araya can still pull it off lol

Corporal Compendia 07-14-2004 07:24 PM

I don't think his age or ability effects it... just the fact that it's cheesy. I'd think he just generally doesn't want to do that scream anymore...

-----
Picked up the 3 Disc Voivod - War and Pain today. I already have War and Pain, but I guess I can trade or sell the old one off now. I also picked up Entombed - Clandestine.

ThrashMaster27 07-14-2004 08:16 PM

Yeah, look at Halford...he can still hit the high stuff at his age. I dunno about Araya though, when's the last time he did a decent scream on a Slayer album?

Ratmevilempire 07-14-2004 08:25 PM

I hope he can still hit that high note. They better play AOD and chemical warfare when I see them because I heard they didn't play them at ozzfest so now im worried.

ThrashMaster27 07-14-2004 08:28 PM

hahaha, they will play Angel Of Death, it's essential. I'm not to sure about Chemical Warfare and I wouldn't expect many off Show No Mercy and Hell Awaits.

Ratmevilempire 07-14-2004 08:29 PM

I heard on the jagermeister tour last year they played the entire reign in blood album as an encore.Mind you they weren't opening for priest but still it would be awesome.

ThrashMaster27 07-14-2004 08:35 PM

Yeah, I think that's a regular occurance from what I've heard. I don't really Reign In Blood as much as some of the others but it would still kick ***.

Shady Ultima 07-14-2004 08:36 PM

No... if they don't play AOD.... I'll bring a gun and shoot em! grr... no not really.

They have to play that song! And Chemical Warfare and Hell Awaits!!! They should play basically all of the War at the Warfield DVD show

Ratmevilempire 07-14-2004 08:36 PM

Ya,haunting the chapel would be their best if it were longer,Or at least I like it best.

Slayer albums in general are over before they begin.
Slayer albums in general are over before they begin.
You, buddy, are an idiot :thumb:

Anyway, Tom doesn't have the best scream anymore, but he can at least sing/yell his stuff... unlike Metallica...

JMetallica 07-15-2004 01:25 AM
I hope he can still hit that high note. They better play AOD and chemical warfare when I see them because I heard they didn't play them at ozzfest so now im worried.
He can't he just puts out mid range aaaaarrrrrr, instead of the screachy AAAAAAHHHHHH. Quite pathetic actually. :(

Girl-Playing-Bass 07-15-2004 01:29 AM

^he totally still can do the screache AAAAAHH man!
he did it jus a few weeks back at Dynamo. Just because he doesn't do it everytime live, doesn't mean he can't do it anymore.
And even if he can't give the guy a break. :)

JMetallica 07-15-2004 01:35 AM

heheh, sorry, i rather like packing it on slayer; **** lazy bastards. I figure he only does it when it suits him because he is in slayer, and is therefore a lazy bastard.

FatalEnergy 07-15-2004 01:43 AM

I like Arayas voice better on the earlier albums
his dull, blunt yell is kind of annoying

DimebagDarrell 07-15-2004 03:46 AM

Toms voice is amazing and slayer do normally play Chemical Warfare its normally the last song, war ensemble sounds killer live as well

Spirit_In_Black 07-15-2004 04:06 AM
Getting past that **** production, though. There do exists albums that crunch AND have the songwriting of AJFA. Blood good record still.
but you gotta admit, AJFAs definatly metallica most thrash album, its their angry album after cliff died and you can really hear the agression in it.
songs like blackened, dyers eve and frayed ends of sanity are great examples.
And plus, it has so many of metallicas best songs on it.

DimebagDarrell 07-15-2004 04:14 AM

CRYPTOPSY's first two albums — 1994's "Blasphemy Made Flesh" and 1995's "None So Vile" — have been released on vinyl in a two-LP gatefold package that is limited to 1,000 copies worldwide. Copies are available for $18 postpaid in the U.S. and Canada from www.emeticrecords.com.

CRYPTOPSY are expected to enter Wild Studio in St-Zenon, Quebec later in the year with producer Pierre Remillard ("None So Vile", "Whisper Supremacy", "And Then You'll Beg", "None So Live") to begin recording their new album, tentatively due in early 2005.
