I must admit that Cream is somwhat overrated, but keep in mind how much their work contributed to the evolution of music over the past 30 years or so. |
Cream is soooo overrated it makes me shudder.
I disagree, I'd say they get the right amount of recognition or less then they deserve. Lunch, I got that Bob Marleyish Cream shirt you were looking at, it was at this store for like $20 so I got it. |

hell ya! I will love Jim Morrison till the day I die... |
Cream is soooo overrated it makes me shudder.
Overrated by who? I rarely see/hear their name come up at all, outside this thread. Maybe it's because they were one of the most talented groups rock has ever seen, person for person. Speaking of Cream, I just got Live Cream Volume II, along with Europe 72(finally), and A Space in Time (Ten Years After album). |

You should've just gotten the Golden Road box set, and I've only heard the Ten Years After album that you sent me, but I really like. |

Well by the time I realized I was going to end up buying all those records, I already had about 5 of them, so it was too late. I blew it though, for sure. |
Just bought...
Johnny Cash - Unchained Best Johnny Cash album I've heard; it even beats Live At Folsom Prison. Possibly (Unchained) one of my alltime favorites. ---------------------------------------------------------- Did you guys know that Elvis's hair was actually dyed? He actually had blond hair. |
DMV won the NRMOTM! Second (maybe third) Classic Rock regular n00b to win it.

Isn't it good to know we have great n00bs? Congrats DMV. :thumb
 Thanks for voting for me you guys. There are so many metal fans and I never really post any where metal. I didn't really think I'd get it. |
elvis costello is cool
/bump
That he is. I found an old tape in my house my mom made in the '80s, and it had some of his songs. "Pump It Up" > most other songs. |
Anyone else watching The Eagles on NBC?
|
I am now
EDIT- I like what I'm hearing, I think I'll buy Hell Freezes Over or a Greatest Hits soon. I like their laid-back feel. |
What time zone and what channel are you guys talking about?
|
What time zone and what channel are you guys talking about?
It started at 8 Eastern time on NBC. |
Anyone else watching The Eagles on NBC?
Yes, good show so far. But you know they'll end up not playing "Hotel California", "Take it Easy" and "Life in the Fastlane" :p. |
But you know they'll end up not playing "Hotel California", "Take it Easy" and "Life in the Fastlane" :p.
:upset: That's some of their best tunes. I'm sure almost every regular has heard the live acoustic version of Hotel California on Hell Freezes Over. If they pull something like that, I'll be amazed. |
I thought Badmoon was joking. Not sure now though.
|
Yea, that live version alone officially makes Joe Walsh one of the greatest guitarists ever. I'm sure they'll play it too, or riots will surely break out.
Joe Walsh on Rides Again > all |
I thought Badmoon was joking. Not sure now though.
They'll play them. However, when I saw Robert Plant openning for The Who many were very mad that he didn't play "Stairway to Heaven". |
If that was a bet you'd lose. I hate them even though I'm watching it right now. I'm just hoping for something good.
Fdit: This song sucks. |
I don't really know anything by Walsh outside of his Eagles work and Life's Been Good.
|

Joe Walsh on Rides Again > all
Yeah that solo is so awesome. |

God you guys suck at jokes. |
I got it as a joke :thumb: That is until everyone started taking it seriously and threw me off. They have some good vocal harmonies as well.

Yea, they do have some good harmonies. Their Soft-Rock/new stuff is usually bad, but their older Country-Rock stuff owns. |

I wouldn't say it's going through a revival, at least not where I live anyway. However, like the threadstarter, the majority of the music I listen to just doesn't get made any more (ie, the artists are dead, band is no longer around etc). At least I don't have to worry about the bands I like turning ****e :D
