queensryche had good clean vocals too.

i listen to some old metal and a fair amount of more recent bands. tomahawk, dillinger escape plan, pantera, megadeth, and others. i have eclectic music tastes.

i know paul played drums on some tracks off of the white album because ringo had briefly quit/gone on vacation.
Ah, DEP is one band I just don't get. I can't stand the singer and the guitar parts are just too...frantic.

The Timekeeper 09-21-2005 06:41 PM

Bruce Dickinson did some live stuff on bbc radio 1 a few night's ago, he was straining so bad..... still great though!

Have any of you guys come across Rich Dickinson? he is the guy in the UK who has Hendrix's 1st Marshall. he is awesome on the Guitar! i read about it all a while ago but looked them up and downloaded the album from the dreaded itunes. i was very surprised at how good he was, i wonder if he is related???? there is more info on www.dfuk.org.uk

JonG 09-21-2005 06:41 PM

I used to listen to Metallica, but then got bored of them. Now I listen to Pantera. Dime has good tone for a SS.

Also Thunderstruck isn't that hard to play on guitar.

I'm listening to the Let It Be Sessions version of Across The Universe, it's rough but there are some really sweet harmonies on the verses
It's in my collection of:
Past Masters Vol. II
Let It Be
Let It Be...Naked
Let It Be Sessions
versions

The franticness is one of the reasons I like them.
can anyone actually play thunderstruck?? on guitar??
No, and I've been trying for years! I guess Angus Young is just too good for me :upset: probably the greatest guitarist ever.

Meh, maybe I could give them a few more listens.

I just watched a video of the British Cream Reunion when they played Crossroads. It further proves the point that Eric Clapton can still wail.

rockinbass17 09-21-2005 07:05 PM

Haha, look at all the old people dancing!

Awsome video, man. Good quality.

I don't think Ringo was a serious alcoholic, but he was good friends with Keith Moon. They show him drunk a few times on TKAA, and I also remember reading something about how he was drunk when Harrison and Clapton were writing Badge.

Edit: I hate Cream

You're just bitter because you couldn't get tickets.

Wow, thanks for pointing that out. I had nooo idea why I said that until you just clarified it for everyone. That was really helpful.

:p :p (that was all a joke, I'm not mad/bitter/annoyed, don't get kill me).

Edit: And yes, that is the reason.

Awesome. Can't wait until October 26th. Great quality too. I think I'll buy that DVD when it comes out. Or has it already come out?

Anyway, the people in the front were actually sitting down when Cream was playing Crossroads. Some even looked disinterested. That's the problem with concerts nowadays, the rich people many of whom don't even like the band get the good seats

Only a little over a month to wait.

BludgeonySteve 09-21-2005 07:20 PM

If anyone wants a bootleg of The White Room from their reunion concert, ask me on AIM.

Oh yeah, and Val Kilmer made an EXCELLENT job in the movie, even though i think it would have been better if they used the guy from the Riders On The Storm cover band(looks even more like Jim than the other guy)

Teeheehee.

Anyone listen to Ted Nugent?

BludgeonySteve 09-21-2005 07:50 PM

Cat Scratch Fever is almost all i've heard.

That song could be used as an example in the definition of cool.

Who Is Angus Young
That Is The Worst Question I Have Ever Heard

BludgeonySteve 09-21-2005 07:53 PM

He was kidding. Anyone with ears has heard of Angus Young.
Who Is Angus Young

I beg to differ!

And clearly this Angus Young has to be good if I'm getting berated simply for asking who he was. Tell me, who is he?

dr._feelgood 09-21-2005 08:00 PM

Angus Young has very little skill playing-wise, but man, does that guy have stage prescence.

BludgeonySteve 09-21-2005 08:01 PM

He has some skill. His solos are decent. Whole Lotta Rosie, anybody?

JonG 09-21-2005 08:03 PM

I'm sittin' here remembering how much I love the album "John Barleycorn Must Die".

I love the keyboard and sax in Glad.

magicbus 09-21-2005 08:03 PM

So what's happening tonight? I like Cream. Spoonful will make a good jam, if I can find a drummer around here.

A whole lotta nothin'.

"Whole Lotta Rosie" is possibly the only AC/DC song. Given that I have only heard it a couple of times.

I probably wouldn't like it if I heard it anymore :P

Ozzfestgod666 09-21-2005 08:06 PM

i know he was kidding i was makin a point

JonG 09-21-2005 08:07 PM

I need some suggestions on albums to get. Every since I got Soulseek, I have downloaded every album I can think of.

Cream has its moments. I still prefer Blind Faith.

I listened to "Blind Faith" a few times, but I wasn't that into it. I'm sure I should give it another shot or something.

JonG 09-21-2005 08:11 PM

Who is that naked chick on Blind Faiths s/t?

I've always wondered that.

Lunch 09-21-2005 08:13 PM

Cream>>>Blind Faith. Blind Faith (album)>Fresh Cream though, so with two more albums BF could have possibly surpassed Cream. With just one album they simply don't have enough material.

Illmatic 09-21-2005 08:13 PM
Who is that naked chick on Blind Faiths s/t?

Well, the band (or their manager, whichever one) was looking for a girl to do that pose on the cover. On the subway (or 'underground' as they say in England) they found the girl they wanted, but she turned them down. However, her sister agreed to it, and so that's how the cover turned out.
Cream>>>Blind Faith. Blind Faith (album)>Fresh Cream though, so with two more albums BF could have possibly surpassed Cream. With just one album they simply don't have enough material.
Blind Faith's self-tited was stronger than anything Cream put out, though.

Yep. I have to agree. How sweet would a Blind Faith reunion be though? That just occured to me. Clapton, Baker, and Winwood are still alive. I don't about Grech though. Is he still alive?

Edit- I think Wheels of Fire was better than Blind Faith s/t.

ATM 09-21-2005 08:15 PM

Can't Find My Way Home is an amazing track.

JonG 09-21-2005 08:16 PM

Nope, he died in '90.
