Some Kind Of Monster Rules!!! :smoke:
That movie made me hate Lars even more. oh and made me understand where St.Anger was coming from. I appreciate that album alot more now

benfan 01-05-2006 02:59 PM

i dont i still think its a peice of crap, it just made me hate lars and bob rock and the band even more.

Nicktheblade 01-05-2006 03:01 PM

Yeah, I am not too fond of Bob Rock, I think he is trying to take the band in a direction they don't belong. If you ask me they need to continue doing what they do best. Drinking and playing Metal.

Aw3someman 01-05-2006 03:01 PM

Bob rock isn't as good as the other guy (name?)

Flemming Ramussen?

Joe 01-05-2006 03:13 PM

The guy, I think it was Flemming, was the best producer. ...AJFA was one of the most talented and well mixed CD's I've ever heard. However, he never told the band when to stop. I would have rather it be 12 songs about 5 minutes each than 9 songs 8-10 minutes each.

Dude Lars was such a dick in some kind of monster.
And James was disturbing in overalls.

bmajdan1 01-05-2006 03:34 PM

Let me add my comment about Metallica`s last album.More u listen to it becomes better, but it is metallica no more.It seems that tehnique was better while they were drinking

Mein bass 01-05-2006 03:39 PM

Well I downloaded the St anger album for myself.
It's good I gotta say,but it doesn't have that garage band feel they used to have.
Know what I mean?

Well mixed? You can't hear the bass.

Aw3someman 01-05-2006 03:42 PM

That's James' and Lars' fault. I refuse to believe Kirk can be mean to ANYONE.

Joe 01-05-2006 03:52 PM

Yea, they did that on purpose.

Hourglass 01-05-2006 03:54 PM
Well mixed? You can't hear the bass.
James and lars and kirk claimed to have turned down the bass (until you almost couldnt hear it at all) on any album after cliff died cause they couldnt handle it.
Or so they say

Britton 01-05-2006 03:56 PM
Good first post, SKOM rules.

So I made an Orion and TLITD medley. It's pretty cool, more the TLITD part because the Orion is all clean guitar minus a little part and its like a year old.
Can you post it or E-mail it to me?

One of my friends claims that he read Ulrich`s diary of some & he told me that they hated Jason at start. There is actualy interview with jason after he left metallica where he said that there he couldn`t reach his maximum.

Britton 01-05-2006 04:02 PM

When Jason came in the rest of the Tallica boys weren't too friendly. And Jason
had a hard time fitting in. I think it took up to the Black album before he got any respect...and even then it wa hard being the person that filled in for Cliff

Joe 01-05-2006 04:07 PM

Yea he did. He really was trashed by the guys becuase they wanted Cliff back.

^ My Orion/To Live Is To Die medley sort of thing

I know the Orion is bad quality

bmajdan1 01-05-2006 04:08 PM

I don`t know if u heard Jason`s solo album there is a song called back in black. If u have Tallica`s album "Unload 2000 Studio..." u can here them trying to play it but it didn`t pass

Mein bass 01-05-2006 04:12 PM

Man.
Jason was a terrific bassist.
He may not have been as good as Cliff but if any of you have seen videos of his solos, the guys amazing.

EDIT-Cliff Burton is my avatar as well.

Oh yea I know he was a good bassist, but he still was hazed pretty badly buy the guys. I'm surprised he got to do all those basslines on the Black Album like The God the Failed, Holier than Thou, My Friend of Misery, etc.

Mein bass 01-05-2006 04:22 PM

Lars,James and Kirk just didn't handle Cliffs death correctly.
They needed to realize that he was gone and wasn't coming back.
But they've gotten over it by now Im sure.

Cliff rules nothing to say about that but I listened to Jason`s solo & he`s not bad at all,but let me ask you a question.Have u ever read a cover of any metallica`s album? If u have read how many songs he wrote.Every song wrote James & Lars with Kirk.Mostly just James & Lars

Well I think they got over Jason being the new guy too. I think once they let him sing Seek and Destroy it went uphill for the four of them.

It was more Lars and James that didn't handle Cliff's death well. The three of them were a band before Kirk was in it. Kirk did ok it seemed, but like Aw3someman said, I don't think Kirk could hate anyone. They're ok with Rob too, they love Rob.

Did you see SKOM? I think they said that the reason Jason quit is because he didn't feel he was getting out his creativity. He was doing a ton of cool basslines and such but like you mentioned he didn't write any lyrics, at least ones used on albums.

Um dude. This isn't like Cliff vs Jason.
I really don't care how many songs he helped write...even Cliff had an average of 3 per album...
Jason was just helping them out.He didn't have to play bass with them, but he was a huge fan and was estatic when he was asked.

drummer_mp3 01-05-2006 04:32 PM

Did anyone mention they were in studio lately!

Cuz they are. (crosses fingers and hopes for a cross between MOP and AJFA)

bmajdan1 01-05-2006 04:38 PM

Actually I don`t agree with u that he didn`t write any lyrics.Because as I was sayin about "Ulrich`s diary",he wrote that they couldn`t stand Jason so they didn`t let him be as good as he could be.

Mein bass 01-05-2006 04:43 PM

Ok ok ok.
Maybe you should stop reading Lars diary :p
Im not gonna argue either.Because I don't know the members personally so theres no way to actually know how they felt about him.

Sorry dude.Maybe I litlle overreacted with my comments but I`m really sorry Jason left Tallica & last album was actually totall disapointment for me even though I`m more guitar guy
