One song sounded like The Killers (not necessarily a bad thing) the other one sounded like typical post-rock, and badly produced.

I mean feel free to help me change my mind but these two songs aren't convincing.

Atmosphere - Strictly Leakage
The Mae Shi - Rapider Than Horsepower

I said the same thing when I heard one song

Then I downloaded the entire album on a whim

You will not even think twice about how awesome it is unless there's something seriously wrong with you, and I give you more credit than that

All the songs sound different, one of them sounds like Fugazi playing a Ride song, one sounds like The Killers if The Killers were somehow good, one sounds like *shels and another sounds like post-rock TBS in a huge tunnel underwater, one sounds sort of like insane Depeche Mode or something, but it is all so ridiculously good that comparing doesn't even work

seamantis 01-30-2008 11:24 AM

Ive been digging a lot of dead meadow. Great band. If anyone hasnt listened to them before then check them out. sort of like sabbath if they were psychadelic. Some of it sounds like brian jonestown massacre. Very ace stuff.

DRUMMER MAN 01-30-2008 11:24 AM

what band are you speaking of?

And thanks Mechanical Kangaroo, i shall definitely check all those out.

Anxious 01-30-2008 11:32 AM

I'm probably going to the Dead Meadow cd release show next week, should be good.

Edgard Varese- The Complete Works

sgrevs 01-30-2008 07:08 PM

It's the only one I've heard, but I really like it. What should I get next?

Tyr 01-30-2008 07:11 PM

Teeny Shiny is the one closest in sound, I'd say.

sgrevs 01-30-2008 07:17 PM

Sweet, thanks, I'll look in to it.

YDload 01-30-2008 08:16 PM

anyone who likes serene, reflective mostly-instrumental indie rock like Sharks Keep Moving, American Football, etc should check out Unwed Sailor if they havent already (perriwinkle?)

theyre from Seattle so you know they're ok

Apocalyptic Raids 01-30-2008 08:21 PM

Dr. Dre - The Chronic

the chorus in Let Me Ride is unrivalled.

Lilys "Black Carpet Magic" this too, i just recently started getting chills listening to it
and lastly the feedback solo part in "Blood in Your Mouth" by Colour Revolt owns me
