Sometimes I wish my parents were like that. It would be so effing fun.

I swear to god Finntroll is the best metal band in the world.

Aaron 08-01-2006 01:15 AM

finntroll are good hey

Futuro 08-01-2006 01:17 AM

There songs make me crack up. As soon as I heard they had an accordian lead I had to hear them.

Janeway 08-01-2006 01:28 AM

They always make me really happy.

Brrm.

fishbulb 08-01-2006 01:42 AM

Futuro, you live really close to me on that google map thing. I just added mine.

Futuro 08-01-2006 02:09 AM

Close as in 50 miles?

I was actually aiming for the In and Out Burger on sunset.

Janeway 08-01-2006 02:24 AM

Hmm...I'm trying to find a song to play underneath a Spice Girls song.
I found one KMFDM song that kind of works, but that's all. =/

Edit:
http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2002/4/15/103358/720
I kind of want to try that.
When I stayed up all night/day last week, I took a 20 minute nap on the couch, and afterwards I felt like I'd had a full night's sleep. It was a really cool feeling for about three hours afterwards, and then the terrible sleep deprivation set in.
Hmmm...

Futuro 08-01-2006 02:49 AM

http://media.putfile.com/song-77-68

So I listened to the entire album "silent circus" from Between the buried and me. There is an audio clip of the only 2 parts I liked....

EDIT: Actually, the sweep at the very end fits well.

Josiah 08-01-2006 03:44 AM

fishbulb 08-01-2006 01:44 PM

LiquidTensionTheatre 08-01-2006 02:04 PM

I'm thinking of getting Vapor Trails for my next Rush album, got Moving Pictures and Counterparts a while back and still listen to them very regularly.

Janeway 08-01-2006 03:08 PM

Wow.
I wanted to watch Judge Judy, so I turned the sattelite off and was flipping through the channels. All of them had the closing alerts at the bottom, and I was like wtf? It's sunny and clear out, and it was kind of chilly.
Then I looked at the thermometer, which was 95 and remembered that we have the central air on and set to 40. It's supposed to be upwards of 100 tomorrow.
They're freaking out like southerners do when they get an inch of snow. =/

Jezen 08-01-2006 03:30 PM

I live quite close to some people on the Google map. It's cool how I pinpointed my exact apartment. Anyone that looks can see where I live now. On a marina, on a river, in Newcastle.

Gatecrashing ahoy :)

Brokensticks 08-01-2006 07:15 PM

Picked up the new Tool and Rise Against Cd's today. Can't wait to listen!

Drum Phil 08-01-2006 07:17 PM

Rise against, well done.

Brokensticks 08-01-2006 07:25 PM

Im not 100% sure if that's sarcasm or not. I usually don't like music with screaming at all but Siren Song Of The Counter Culture is a fantastic cd. I really enjoy listening to it.

samsamthegiantman 08-01-2006 08:48 PM

I'm excited for Christmas.

I already know what I want for christmas..

Ipod
Digi Cam that records video WITH sound
Boom Stand (Brand not yet decided)
Metronome
20" K Dark Ride.

Cocaberry 08-01-2006 09:04 PM

Yeah I know what I want too.

I want some kind of 14" x 6.5" maple snare. I'm probably just going to end up buying it myself though because I hate waiting till Christmas for stuff.

No reason to wait for Christmas when you have the money to get what you want now.

Berk 08-01-2006 09:14 PM

I hate when parents say "Christmas is coming up", Pisses me off.
Then you got make your own money.

That's like $700. Geez.

My birthday is in 19 days.
I don't know what I want. My parents bought me a $3,600 saxophone so I'm not going to ask for anything that expensive. Hmm...

nutty_bar 08-01-2006 09:21 PM

You guys have quite the lists. All i want for Christmas is my two front teeth! *badumch*

Now that that's off of my chest, I might ask for a cymbal and a metronome. But I haven't decided. Who plans these things in August anyways? We've got Halloween and Thanksgiving to get through first. And going back to school here in a couple weeks, oh man that doesnt sound nice.

Seafroggys 08-01-2006 10:12 PM

for Christmas/Birthday, realistically, all I ask for are usually albums, movies, maybe some games, and misc. stuff that I need (CD/DVD cleaners, earplugs, sticks, heads, etc.)

Zildjian 08-01-2006 10:34 PM

wow you guys get all these expensive gifts and the best gift i ever got was seinfeld season 4

Jody LeCompte 08-01-2006 10:34 PM

So, now that I'm working...

How do I convince my parents to let me get a set?

And chippy says that i'm spoiled for getting $380 for my birthdays about.

I either want a ride cymbal or a crash, maybe both if i play my cards right. I also would like a new throne in the near future, but sinc eyou don't play on that, it isn't that big of a deal.
