okay guys, i've got a question for you.

i used to be in a band with 3 of my friends. i was the only one who bothered learning theory and i was the only one who practiced. for the first year and a half, i was the one who wrote all the songs, for the most part. it got to the point where my songwriting had progressed passed their ability to play. so it would take weeks for me to teach them how to play a song that i had to cut down from what i originally had. eventually i just stopped going downstairs when they came over because all they did was try to learn a simple riff. they got mad and i told them they needed to practice, because i wasn't able to play anything while they're trying to learn something. eventually, they just gave up and stopped coming over. there was no "i'm done with the band" or anything, it just kind of stopped and we never said anything.

a few months later i asked one of them if he wanted to start coming over again, since he was the one who practiced the most out of them, and the only one who's touched his instrument since he stopped coming here. i told him to come over whenever he wanted to. he said yes, then later that day, lent his amp to a friend who said he'd return it later that night. the friend had the amp for 2 weeks, and now that my friend has had his amp back for about a month and a half, and still hasn't bothered even talking to me about the band.

do you think i should even bother asking him again? because from my perspective, it seems like he's not motivated in the least bit, and if i ask him if he's ever going to come over, it's just going to be like the old days again.

and, another friend of mine asked me if i wanted to play for his band. they're all great musicians, but he's the only one out of the four that i get along with. what are your guys' opinions on that?

Undisco Kidd 04-09-2006 02:25 PM

That's quite a situation.

Atleast try it with the guys you don't 100% get along with. They might grow on you.

Russia on Ice 04-09-2006 02:34 PM

I had this one album and it said it woulld take 16 days for it to complete.

Then I got another bigger album with like 41 files, and it only took two hours.
Blech...

What are good sites to search for torrents on?

Maggot Dream 04-09-2006 03:28 PM

Torrentspy.com and mybittorrent are the ones I use most. Torrentspy is pretty good.
