They're playing Fibbers in York. I've seen Mondo Generator there before, it was ****ing ace :D the venue's tiny, the band are about a foot from the front row, the sound's fantastic, and if you ask dead nice they sometimes let you out back after

The funny thing is Mondo Generator and QOTSA are playing the same night here.

Same venue perchance....?

the thrash reference is maybe the guitar sound or some ****....but they are not that "doomy" but obviously for doom fans. Just listen to them and figure out if you like it or not.
