clairvoyant 08-30-2005 09:32 AM

Jev 08-30-2005 01:00 PM

RustedPieces 08-31-2005 02:17 PM

Josh 08-31-2005 02:35 PM

i'm kinda disappointed that 'Deth aren't going to tour the UK again, i missed them on their last tour :upset:

Jev 08-31-2005 02:36 PM

I'm glad i caught the last UK show, just wish it wasn't so short.

Yeah that really sucks, i have never seen them. I will just try to see Dave live when he goes solo.

Josh 08-31-2005 02:41 PM

i thought he already had solo songs, just hadn't toured yet?

Father_Jack_The_2nd 08-31-2005 02:44 PM
i thought he already had solo songs, just hadn't toured yet?
I haven't heard anything.

Jev 08-31-2005 02:44 PM

Yeah he does have a solo album out.

Josh 08-31-2005 02:45 PM

ah well, will just have to wait and see. hopefully he'll tour soon :)

Father_Jack_The_2nd 08-31-2005 02:45 PM
Yeah he does have a solo album out.
Anyone have it and can send me it via AIM?

Diex 08-31-2005 02:45 PM

The ought to get Slayer, Anthrax, Metallica, and Megadeth to headline some "Return of the Thrash Tour" or something along the lines of that, and so no feelings are hurt about who opens up and closes the show, the bands rotate for each different show, so everyone gets a chance to go. Although the possibilities of this are near non-existant, it would kick major ***.

Yeah so you're pretty much dreaming there. Altho it would kick some major a$$

MAthiAS 08-31-2005 02:50 PM

Slayer and Metallica wouldn't tour with Megadeth. But Testament and Exodus would :D

Jev 08-31-2005 02:52 PM

I've only got a couple songs, you could try requesting a few songs in the YSI thread.

I'll go to the AIM trade thread

mmmmm exodus :naughty:

and Kreator :naughty:

Chu 08-31-2005 09:14 PM

Kreator's sweet. Can't stop listening to Violent Revolution recently.

MAthiAS 08-31-2005 09:16 PM

Ah, a Kreator and Exodus tour would be sex.

clairvoyant 08-31-2005 10:26 PM

Exodus...very good live band. The rocked when I saw them in DC.

Huber 08-31-2005 10:42 PM

I'm liking these tour ideas...heh

Didn't Dave say the fans would know his decision about Megadeth at the end of Gigantour, and when is it over?

MAthiAS 08-31-2005 10:44 PM

Yeah, I think he said he's 99% sure Deth is done though.

I don't know if I really care either way... Deth is too big now for their live show to be too special anymore unfortunately.

Huber 08-31-2005 10:47 PM

I still haven't seen Megadeth live...that makes me sad.

He better make up for it with an awesome solo career.

BassMasterMike88 09-01-2005 07:19 AM

I'm pretty sure that being booted from 'Tallica and forming Deth is almost a solo career in itself.

Jev 09-01-2005 07:26 AM

Well, Megadeth is basically Megadave, he's the only original member and he writes most of the songs himself.

Apocalyptic Raids 09-01-2005 07:45 AM
I'm pretty sure that being booted from 'Tallica and forming Deth is almost a solo career in itself.
Well its only been like a solo career since they came back. It never was before 2002.

RustedPieces 09-01-2005 09:26 AM
Kreator's sweet. Can't stop listening to Violent Revolution recently.
I only listen to Kreator when I'm mad. But everytime I do I like them a little more.

clairvoyant 09-01-2005 10:15 AM

Yea before 2002 David ellefson did a fair amount of writing and before Marty and Nick were kicked out/left they wrote a decent amount of stuff too, so it wasnt always just Dave.

Jev 09-01-2005 10:45 AM

But most of the great songs are written just by him.

clairvoyant 09-01-2005 10:57 AM

Not necesarily, Dave Ellefson wrote some of Tornado Of Souls and Lucretia. The entire band wrote Ashes In Your Mouth, and the entire band wrote all of Youthanasia.

MAthiAS 09-01-2005 11:24 AM

Like with most bands, there was a main songwriter, that was Dave in Megadeth. But the other members did contribute to the writing process.

Five Magics 09-01-2005 06:20 PM

What does anyone think what would have happened if any one of the line-ups stayed together for the entire duration of the band? (For example, Dave, Jr., Marty, and Nick from KIMB to TSHF).

clairvoyant 09-01-2005 06:26 PM

It would have started with the best metal band ever and ended with some crazy pop-metal poser band.

MAthiAS 09-01-2005 06:57 PM

Yeah, probably.

Better question, what if Dimebag and Vinnie had joined up instead of Marty and Nick when they were asked?

FlyingPaul_83 09-01-2005 07:21 PM

That would've been weird, I like dimebag, but He doesn't seem to fit megadeth. I don't think I would like it as much as marty and nick.

MAthiAS 09-01-2005 08:02 PM

Me either... because I don't really like Pantera much outside of CFH.

Jev 09-02-2005 05:00 AM
Yeah, probably.

I don't know, I think you'd get RIP at half the speed with a million harmonics, nothing wrong with Pantera but I <3 RIP.

fatbandit 09-02-2005 06:42 AM

I prefer Vinnie's Drumming, but Dime's shred style would have been in total contrast with Marty or Chris. To be honest, I think it would have been cool, with the two entirely different tones and styles with the guitars.

Also, Dime is synonymous with Drop D in my mind. Wonder how that would have worked out.
