Well that's not really fair to say. Having an open mind is not synonymous with liking everything you hear uncritically. I'm pretty sure I have an open mind, but there are definitely albums I don't like.

True, I would consider myself reasonably open to music, but if I had a copy of [I]Fungus Amongus[/I] by Incubus I would hit it with a hammer until it smashed.

I listen to pretty much nothing ,( Metallica,slipknot,SoaD,Extol)

but of what i can say you shoudl listen to Extol.

I am almost in the same situation with you... I mean for the last months I keep listening to Nevermore, Opeth and Biomechanical.
I am going to suggest checking out:
1) Wastefall, a Greek prog metal band which has all the good Nevermore and Biomechanical elements as well as some Pain of Salvation one's (go to [url]www.wastefall.com[/url] and download their stuff).
2) Communic, a Norwegian prog-power band which is really similar to nevermore. Their first album got very good to awesome reviews in every European magazine.

Personally, I would stay away from about half of the bands mentioned here. Some of it is really good though, so you can decide what you like for yourself.

You'll probably like stuff like In Flames, Opeth, and Dark Tranquillity a lot.

I like pretty much every band stated in this thread, but theres nothing much similar to SOAD. Just helping the guy so stop being a dick and respect what people other than yourself listen to.

If you want albums for King Diamond go for The Puppet Master (Not Master Of Puppets:p ), Spiders Lullabye or Abigail...all of them are amazing.
