Lela told me her friends say that about me. It made me sad. Don't tell him he's scary looking. |
He may have.
Either that or, he is one of the heads and is such a pyscho he killed the other two. Yeah...I like that better. |

He's seen this thread. He likes being scary looking. |
Case in point on this subject, I've been told by many people that I'm a reasonably good-looking guy, but it's gotten me absolutely nothing.
Sure, women approach me. But I have all these bad social habits that have had 20 years to carve canyon-like scars into my brain that I've only just begun to repair. And the result is that within five minutes, these women have completely lost interest in me. |

For one thing, I ramble. When I was young, air in the conversation usually meant whoever I was talking to disapproved of me, or at least that's how I percieved it. So I started ranting nervously. And now it's just a bad habit I'm having a very hard time shaking. Second is my body language. It's kind of hard to read my expressions and body language. I spent most of my youth getting kicked in the face by my peers, figuratively and literally. So as a defense mechanism I learned how to negate most of my body language and school my face to a mask of indifference. So now I look like a fucking hitman, and I'm starting over from square one. One of the worst is that I have a sharp wit and a great sense of humor, but I seldom use it in conversation with new people. The reason being is that in the adult world, when you say something someone doesn't like, they'll usually just walk away. But growing up, whenever I said something someone didn't like because they couldn't take a joke, I got the crap beaten out of me. So that's another habit that's been around so long I'm having a hard time shaking it. |

My story isn't all that unique. It's apparently standard issue for people like me.
It really sucks, because this should not be a problem for me. I was having articulate conversations with adults when I was 3. |
You'll eventually shake those habits, though. Just be aware (as you know) when you do them.

So today I talked to Julia. I asked her how she felt about me, because I had been getting a vibe that she didn't like me. I was right about that. She said "I think of you as a friend". I'm real pissed at her, but I didn't tell her. I think she lead me on this whole time. I don't know about you guys, but whenever I've had a girl that's just a friend, we don't watch movies and cuddle, they don't hold my hand, they don't kiss me good bye, they don't text me 3 times a day during school, they don't call me all the time just to talk. And when I asked her out, she said "I would, but I just got out of a 2 1/2 year relationship" <--summed up
I hate the girls at my school, the only two I've pursued have lead me on. I always hear "Oh Matt you could do better than her", but if I can do so much better, than who is it that I should be with? sorry about this rant, but it pisses me off that she would do that. |
Man, I'm sorry, but I know what you mean about her behavior leading you on. She shouldn't have been doing that.
|
Yeah, I'm really angry right now. I was just talking to her, I told her that I would talk to her later when I'm not as mad. But she said that she was sorry and didn't mean to make me feel that way. Which I find total bull ****. How could she do all those things that someone does when they like somebody and not think about how that made me feel. This is really going to help me with knowing when girls like me....oh wait no it's not.
|
I guess the answer would be to ask straight out what the intentions are if you think you're getting mixed messages. That way there's no confusion down the road.
|
yay finally got her to say yes to sleeping @ my place the last night. lol

The problem lies in the inherent differences between men and women. And the fact that in general, neither side understands the other. Women are every bit as guilty of not understanding men as men are of women. It's the burden of being as complex a creature as a human being. Though it really would help if you explain to her just what was going on. I had the fortune of learning early on that some girls act that way because it's just in their nature. In my sophomore year of school, there was a girl named Francesca (whom I still regret never making a move on), who was very flirty with both men and women even though she was as straight as they get. |
Grrrrr...i just went to have a blood test + ECG. My mum ended up having to pay because she lost our healthcare card, and shes blaming me for every little problem she has. Paying for medical appointments, driving me places, paying bills, her not going to work for the past few days, EVERYTHING. Then she says "I might as well just sell myself" trying to make me feel guilty about something. Now shes saying that, "You having that fight with me the other night doesn't help things and you still haven't apologised".
Shes trying to make me feel bad about not doing stuff around the house when ive been sick for days! Grrrrr... /rant |

Is there anyway to get out of being only friends with someone?
|
Is there anyway to get out of being only friends with someone?
Whats your situation? |
Well, I'm friends with this girl and she probably only wants to be friends. I can only hang out with her every once in a while since we go to different schools, and I have a crush on her, and that's it.
