I hear that's good, but goes down a bit near the end. Tr00f?

sketchyjoe 05-30-2005 02:45 AM
hmm...i dont know. I read something about Joe's daugther screaming "DONT YOU PISS ON MY DADS GRAVE" (so theres a grave somewhere) to a guy at a festival. Maybe Somerset (but again, i have no idea if it's a town or a state or whatever cause I'm stupid), that's where he lived when he died.
What you're referring to is a memorial stone in a field at Glastonbury Festival but that's not his grave. It's there because he was a Glastonbury regular and good friends with it's organiser.
No. No-one does. It doesn't exist. You're lying.
Thatīs what you know!

Pretty good, expect I'm in a minority but I remember being a bit let down by the Clash at the time. The first album was brilliant but felt the subsequent albums were produced I felt, too much with the big USA audience in mind, almost like two Clashes, the studio Clash and the live Clash, anyone who saw them live had to be impressed. Joe Strummer is a legend, I respect the guy and his politics enormously.

sketchyjoe 05-30-2005 02:18 PM
Saw Flogging Molly. Amazing.

They talked about Joe for a second and had everybody clap for him. I think they do that at every show. Before Flogging Molly played, there was a mix playing. Operation Ivy came on and about 3/4 of the people sang along. Rancid came on and about the same sang along. London Calling started played and only about 10 people sang along. It was sad.

But then Johnny Cash came on, the lights went out, and everybody sang along. Much fun.

But the main point of this post was about the Joe thing and the Clash thing. (on topic) :)
They dedicated a song to Johnny and Joe when I saw them too.
Thatīs what you know!
Shut up.

white_riot 05-30-2005 02:26 PM
And yesterday I was listening to the meskies and I started to think about how I missed their show in Montreal in 2001 and I think I'll regret it all my life. I know I wasnt listening to the meskies back then, but ****, I regret it anyway.
I think they came here in 2001 too. I wasn't listening to them back then either. It sucks.

I agree with you about Give 'Em Enough Rope but London Calling isn't particularly polished with the exceptions of a few songs.

I went to see mxpx when they came here a while ago and they played should I stay or should I go. I went all crazy and I probably annoyed everyone around me cause I was screaming.

sketchyjoe 05-30-2005 03:48 PM

MXPX suck.

456.

Has anyone heard the story of when them and the Sex Pistols use to play together, and Mick stopped because Sid once wore a shirt with a Nazi symbol?

Supposedly, Mick Jones is Jewish, and he refused to jam with them after that. Anyone else heard it?

Coma_Girl 05-30-2005 05:22 PM

guns_of_brixton 05-30-2005 07:42 PM

Mick might be Jewish, because of the "rehersal rehersal" part in Westway.

The "Police on my Back" from one of those live bootlegs is amazing .

prettyvacantbrat 05-31-2005 06:57 AM

NP - The Prisoner

Canadian-Guy 05-31-2005 06:30 PM

Mystery Train is a film about two Japanese people who came to America for several reasons, and Joe's in it. For reference http://imdb.com/title/tt0097940/.

CombatRock 05-31-2005 11:08 PM

Does it just say his name or does it talk about him for a while?

sketchyjoe 06-01-2005 05:08 AM

He ACTS in it.

guns_of_brixton 06-01-2005 10:18 AM

white_riot 06-01-2005 02:53 PM
