Minus The Flair 09-23-2006 03:49 PM

I've never written anything I've been truely 'happy' with, but I do impress myself sometimes.

Nightvision 09-23-2006 03:58 PM

May '04 for me, and been lurking round in varying capacities ever since. :)

TojesDolan 09-23-2006 04:30 PM

yay the community is like active. \:D/

It should be like this all the time.

Surf 09-23-2006 04:32 PM

the community is active, but there's not been too many new songs up today.
I've never written anything I've been truely 'happy' with, but I do impress myself sometimes.
i think my first piece is one of my favourites. there's not much more i could add to it. but then, i'm not entirely happy with them to start with, hence posting here

TojesDolan 09-23-2006 04:39 PM

There have been plenty.

Or maybe I left to many pieces uncritiqued.

Surf 09-23-2006 04:42 PM

hmm. different time zones methinks. my today differs. today, in my world there's been about five new threads

Nightvision 09-23-2006 04:47 PM

Yeah, it's another spurt of activity. Hopefully this one will last a bit longer than the usual 2 weeks. :)

Surf 09-23-2006 04:49 PM

well i have freshers week next week, so i may be posting a bit less. or drunk posting. either/or....

TojesDolan 09-23-2006 05:01 PM

Ah yeah Surf, I meant it as in a lot of the people I used to know that wrote above decent were coming back and some newbies I didn't consider in my radar are doing a pretty good job at writing.

Surf 09-23-2006 05:10 PM

kewl.

and now the lyrical challenge is sorted.

*standing ovation for slack*

TojesDolan 09-23-2006 05:17 PM

I left him some applause.

slack 09-23-2006 05:31 PM

Yeah because it was so hard. :p

Jo Shoe Wah 09-23-2006 05:54 PM

Yeah that could be a problem too surf. I think if i were to make it i'd ask for people to simply leave their analysis, whatever they get from it, and not wreak havoc on what someone else may see, and that is a shame that not many people care for others work as i see it as inspiration and development.

As well as immense appreciation in most cases :p

DeadReligion 09-24-2006 01:02 PM

Not to go totally of topic, but what happened to SubtleDagger? Haven't seen him roun' these parts lately.

pixiesfanyo 09-24-2006 01:35 PM

HE got a girls fruend

pixiesfanyo 09-24-2006 01:36 PM
As we're all getting so well aquainted, I was wondering how long has everyone been writing for. tbh I just started writing when I visited the site in April, it was April not March. I saw the S&L forum and thought hmmm I've always wanted to write shizz but never got round to it. I think I'll try it. My first piece was awful. And so was yours probably. But I'm steadily improving, sucking right now though
2001.

TojesDolan 09-25-2006 08:41 AM

Good going. I have 26 minutes to finish homework. Yay.

Anyway... 2003.

Dinosawesome 09-25-2006 08:43 AM

What's up man?

You need to get your act together soon!
Hell man, I'M even posting again now... and THAT'S saying something!

Maybe not very actively. I still read the forums quite often but have been too apathetic/busy to post until now. Really need to get writing again. Been working on a novel rather than lyrics recently. Bad writers block. Maybe because i'm having to think differently when i'm writing prose.

deathscreamingsheep 09-25-2006 04:48 PM

As you all clearly care about my personal life, I may well be in and have a new girlfriend. Expect many a cheesy love ballad to follow (ok don't).

I feel like flexing my critiquing muscles. Is there anyone who desperately needs critting?

Eliminator 09-25-2006 05:09 PM

me too

FA 09-25-2006 06:42 PM

I give up posting material on this forum...

slack 09-25-2006 06:47 PM

what why

DeadReligion 09-25-2006 06:58 PM

Yeah, why?

Sloth 09-25-2006 07:36 PM

cause no one gives his stuff any worth while attention

slack 09-25-2006 08:26 PM

Shit, I hope he doesn't think that. He usually gets more responses than I do. I think it's because some fag on the intranets copied one of his poems. I have tons of notebooks where I figure out what to write and how to write it, so I don't really care about posting stuff here. I know what I wrote, and I can prove it if I ever need to.

pixiesfanyo 09-25-2006 08:40 PM

Anyone that needs to steal lyrics, can have them.
