ok thanks a lot. I only want a zildjian crash because the rest of my set is zildjan.
youll grow out of it. lawl. then get back into it. |
ok thanks a lot. I only want a zildjian crash because the rest of my set is zildjan.
brand whoring will only limit the sounds u can get out of ur set. i.e, say u like the Paiste Flanger Bell, but ur a zildjian brand whore, so u don't buy the bell, and u miss out. i would definatly go for the PST5 |
Ah Mega cup chimes are awesome.
Now for my turn. Paiste Rude 17" Thin crash(£109) Vs. Zildjian 20" Oriental Crash. Either way both of these cymbals will end up on my setup. Which first? Im thinkin the Rude as i dont need the FX crash just yet. I could do with beefing up my main crashes. |
yea, if u don't need FX imediatly i would go for the rude, even though the 20'' crash of doom would be nice to have
|
Personally Phil, I'd just hit that Crash of Doom, but that's the way my taste is running right now, so don't ask me.
EDIT: Going by the Zildjian site, it doesn't even sound that trashy. |
Alright, i got some money, i'm wondering if i should get either A: a new (probably A/A Custom) crash. or a B: Wuhan splash pack or splash/china pack im not sure if i should get effects, but i dont see the problem really. what do you guys think?

Ge tthe Oriental crash, it can never do you wrong. |
i would would like to get a chine preferable 18" to 20" with a pure roar and powerfull sound
|
ok i need some help on this one. I need a ride cymbal and I need something good for live setting in miced and unmiced settings. Progressive/experimental band. Im thinking of getting something thats medium or medium heavy. nothing really above that medium heavy range. Im thinkin the AA raw bell dry ride. Would that be good in a miced and unmiced situation as well? Its medium heavy in weight. Im open to other suggestions too. Preferrably Sabian because they are the cheapest here but will also look into zildjian too. Not paiste...too bloody damn expensive here. ITs a scam i tell ya.

well i depends, if u have no crash, then i would suggest getting one, or if u have a low end crash, maybe replace it. if u have 1 or 2 good crashes, and feel that is enough, i would go with the effects, because effects are nice. but in my eyes, one should make sure they have good ride/hats/crash before looking into effects |

You dissapoint me, 17 Rude Crash as apposed to 20 Oriental Crash......;( |
i think he said he's gonna end up with both
|

It makes sense to get the cheaper one first |

If its New Beats, its the best. So you got something thats better then best! Then again, they're only 13" :( |
no idea on the age
i havent heard them yet, but i absolutely love the sound of these 15" 70s vintage zildjians (no idea on series) that i play on at my percussion ensemble i really want them, but they are owned by the east sussex music service, which is owned by the council, and if youve ever tried getting anything off the council... |
Will someone please tell me the sound characterisics of a wuhan traditional ride
It's been a week and nobody's answered my question. Do you guys hate me or something? |
It makes sense to get the cheaper one first
I guess.. I wouldn't know. |
It's been a week and nobody's answered my question. Do you guys hate me or something?
If nobody has answered then nobody knows the answer to your question. If it's hand hammered it's probably going to be dark. Thats all I know. You should probably go try it out yourself. |
do some research if it matters that much.

Wash will be a bit higher pitched than a 14" model but you'll still be able to get some very nice sounds outta them, they just may not be suited to grunge-styled music as well a larger hat would be. I kinda wish I got them instead of the 14's. Older the cymbal = better the sound, so dont worry about it affecting them in any negitive way (provided they arent cracked, keyholed etc...) |
If nobody has answered then nobody knows the answer to your question.
Well it just seems like some people would know... There are so many Wuhan recomendations on this forum. |
