Before the verse in time, are those bongos?
I'm 100% positive that they're Roto-Toms. |
After 8 hours and around 3 gb's later, I now have every single Pink Floyd Album to date, 24 in all.
|
Check out the Meddle album. It's probably the best Floyd album before Dark Side, with the exception of The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn. The best songs on it are come first and last:
One of These Days - "I'm gonna cut you into little pieces" [Kinda Eerie] Echoes - 23 minutes with masterpiece written all over it. |
How did you get stars, out of curiousity? Also, when you repped me, how come my rep stayed at 0?
Yes, I know your rep didn't move. The reason I still have stars is because when Jeremy did away with the rep system, I was banned.(unjustly, of course) It happened to a couple other people as well. Cheesepuff and moaner and Ramsey had the same thing happen to them. :-/ Don't worry, my stars are duds. |
So what is everyones favorite 2 gilmour solos.
time conftorbly numb (2nd) |
Med, if you see this, do you think you could YSI me the rest of Wish You Were Here?
Have a Cigar, Welcome to the Machine, and I think I also need SYOCD pts 6-9. :-/ Thanks for the thought. :thumb: Blythe-All 5 or so solos throughout Dogs, and probably the 2 from Comfortably Numb. NP: The Wall Also, could someone tell what how gilmour acheives the sounds he gets in Any Colour You Like? Is he using a wah pedal, or what? EDIT v. 3.0-Thanks a lot Med. I'll be downloading them after I get home from town. :-/ Church.. |
the drums in 2time" intro are roto toms, no doubt.
one of these days rules, dunnit? |
So what is everyones favorite 2 gilmour solos.
time conftorbly numb (2nd)
You know everybody always says they like the second one more, but the first one has always blown me away much more. I feel like I'm floating when it comes on. Well thats one of my favorite solos, my second one would have to be all of Interstellar Overdrive. |
Favorite solos? SOYCD and Hey You.
|
I'm on it now...I'll edit the links into this post. :)

I mean 1-5 is great, but 6-9 kills it IMO. |
best 2 solos, time and maybe comfortably numb 2nd solo LIVE OFF PULSE.
now THAT's better. otherwise, the best 2 solos are time and the vocal solo form great gig in the sky. |
Then it would probably be your favorite Guitar solo after you heard me play the vocal solo on guitar :p (yes, i do know it)
But the intro to Time is on tympinis or bongos i think, but the drums in the middle of the money solo were roto toms (i think). I know they werent his regular drums, and they set-up something brand new to them. Best solos comes up too often in this thread, but i still havent heard comfortbly numb live........ |

Im gonna check it out the moment i have a chance to. But Pulse is probably 4th in line of floyd albums im gonna buy, and i havent ever listened to a floyd song before i bought the album (radio exception). I wanna buy the live wall dvd too...when i can find it
|
Today I got Meddle, and as I type this I'm listening to Echoes.
It was a good day at the mall. Found everything I wanted. Smooth day... awesome... Edit - Forgot the 'as.' And because I didn't put it, I sounded like one. |
Good thing. Echoes is cool.
|
CN was so much better covered by Scissor Sisters, was it not?
|
So what is everyones favorite 2 gilmour solos.
Hmm. Probably CN and Hey You/Time. |
CN was so much better covered by Scissor Sisters, was it not?
Stop kidding. |
So what is everyones favorite 2 gilmour solos.
time conftorbly numb (2nd)
I love all the solos on SOYCD. I also like the solos in CN, and I preffer Money's solo over Time's. |
Time and Hey You. I'm thinking of more defined solos, like SOYCD would be a good choice, but you can't really tell where the solo is, because most of the song is guitar based.
|
CN is like the best solo ever, or at least it is giving stairway a pretty good competition at the top.
Time is also great. |
CN is like the best solo ever, or at least it is giving stairway a pretty good competition at the top.
Time is also great.
Actually I think Stairway is the best solo. |
When it comes dont to it, in my opinion it's Time vs. CN
|
no u r wrong teh best solo is one by metalica
|
I think I preffer Echoes from Live At Pompeii more than the studio version.
|

Yes... |
I think I preffer Echoes from Live At Pompeii more than the studio version.
I prefer the solo off Pompeii to the studio version, and the funky jam part too, but I just love the intro to the studio version. The tone is amazing. |
Yeah, the funky part is awesome on Pompeii, and the drums are better on Pompeii as well. But the intro is truly amazing, it's kinda like the bluprint of SOYCD.
|
My only complaint about Live at Pompeii was that they focused just a LITTLE to much on the drumming, I wanted to see Gilmour more.
