Happy Birthday! :thumb:

I just got back from my Rock History class.
 Man, I wish that was available to me.

Today we talked about the Beach Boys, and also Motown. Which isn't as interesting to me.

Next week starts our 3 week Beatles section.

I just learned about a study abroad opportunity in music that sounds incredible: it takes place at Dartington College in the U.K., and it's the first Sarah Lawrence exchange student program ever. Next year, they're only sending two people, but I'm so into that program that I would love to be one of the two. Any U.K. people that know of the school, and could give me recommendations?

Plus, if I was in England, it would be cool to meet some of you. :)

Pfft, like anyone would want to meet you

:-*

Anyway, I'm moving down to Manchester tomorrow and I'm not sure when I'll get my internet connection sorted out so I probably won't be around for a few days.
In every* high school, something like 75% of the guys in my entire graduating class got drunk or did pot every week
*Fixed. Thats what high school is.

Hopefully it'll be quicker than the six weeks mine took last year :)

See you in a few days then, and good luck with the moving.

Six weeks? :-/

I don't think it should take too long, I just need to get all registered and stuff which is on Monday. But then again I haven't had any experience with Uni so far so my estimations are probably totally wrong.
Ray, did you just refer to smoking weed as "doing pot"?

That's like what you hear in the anti-drug commercials.

Why so I did.

I guess I was going to say, "did drugs" but wrote "pot" instead of "drugs"? That's the only excuse I have :upset:

Ah well.
*Fixed. Thats what high school is.
Not in Mormon high schools :p

anyway, for some reason I'm excited about this weekend...dunno why though. My girlfriend still has a lot school work to do :( She'll probably finish it quickly though, just because she's like that.

Yep, six weeks. The building I was living in was a new one though, which can't have helped. Apparently this time it will only take "a few days", but I'm not sure I trust them.

What do you think of the new Arsis clip!? This stuff is amazing - much more technical and heavier than their past stuff. I can't wait for the whole thing.

Arucard 09-16-2005 01:52 PM

Yeh, i made a thread about it. Go look man.

That picture of me again :

I don't think I'll have that trouble.

Anyway I'm off to the pub for a last night of drinking in Scotland. I'll speak to you crazy kids whenever.

Arucard 09-16-2005 01:59 PM

Have fun man, i just went for some drinks heh.

Jom 09-16-2005 02:22 PM

Have a good time, Ali, and good luck with the move.

Drink some Irn-Bru and toast for me... er, your friends, family, and health.

Shattered_Future 09-16-2005 02:27 PM

Man, I didn't realize how good record label's magazine advertisements are...

I probably discovered about 5 new bands that I like from magazine ads in one magazine today.

I'm going to a wedding too tomorrow only wearing my jeans and my Nile T-shirt. What's the point in getting dressed formally?

Lord Abortion 09-16-2005 03:55 PM

Work is crappy, but they are going to pay me more and put me on a set rota, so I don't have to piss about not knowing what days I am working like now, I will be on set days.
I can arrange stuff round it, or quit like I said I would
Decisions, decisions

PS-Dragonforce tomorrow!!!

Stoic 09-16-2005 03:58 PM
Dragonforce tomorrow!!!
will you take a camera with you? :p

Sometimes the descriptions are completely inaccurate and misleading. What bands did you discover anyway?

Lord Abortion 09-16-2005 04:01 PM

I would take a camera, but it would soon become a broken camera, covered in beer.

After school today, a Slipknot fan boy called me a poser. I didn't know what to say to that.

Kurtz 09-16-2005 04:44 PM

So, I've been having a big problem with Winamp lately.

The last song I played on it was The Stooges - Gimme Danger, and it won't even fully open. I've been getting this message whenever I open it. I've shut my computer down all day, tried restarting it, all that crap. Should I just reinstall it or what?

A blatantly ugly chav (girl) at school called my guitarist both an "ugly ginger hippie"
and an "ugly, ugly bastard."
We laughed... he's not that ugly...

Well he is ginger...

I've been having major problems with Winamp also it does that to me constantly. Its working now for me but when it doesn't work I just re-open it a bunch of times and it works sooner or latter.

Congratulations 09-16-2005 04:56 PM

Well, I really didn't say anything. I kind of just walked off into the distance with my leather coat strung over my shoulder.

I can't believe I used to be like him:upset:

I was once a Slipknot fanboy as well. Many, many, dark, disturbing years ago.

It's all in the past now.

I like my title...

Let's see...Throes Of Dawn. The ad bills them as "Finnish Gothic Black Metal compared to mid-era Tiamat." More gothic than black...

Astarte. "Greek Black Metal with guests from Dimmu Borgir and Rotting Christ." Enhanced by the fact that it's an all female band. :D

And finally, the crown jewel...Opera IX. "Doomy Occultic Black Metal from Italy." Not really black metal, but even better. This is a really great band...i suggest everybody check them out.

Because i like looking my best on a formal occasion, and also because my cousin always does so i have to uphold the family formality.

You think a system restore would do the trick?
