So..
Played a show tonight and..

Both stands I use for my crashes flaked out on me. My pedal refused to be put together, no matter what, so I played single kick. My splash arm wouldn't stay tightened onto my stand. I dropped a stick becase I was cramped up. Anndd, I couldn't hear my guitarist 50% of the show and had to wing it.

But the crowd loved us. :)

Lessons learned:
What can go wrong before/during a gig, will.
I need new gear.
A good crowd is a good crowd. Period.
The major scale is everything

Anything you play is apart of it in someway, it's the big bang theory for music EVERYTHING is based around it.

You haven't really been here long. Ten months isn't really that much in the scheme of things. So don't feel bad. No one knows me either, and I've been here since 03.
this time when I listene I actually really cracked up because of how random that screech is
pespi do you post in the "other instrument forums"?
Yes. I didn't want to post it there, though. Nobody knows me.

And that thing wasn't structured at all. The lick that I kept playing is out of the D blues scale. I love it so much. I just want to stand up at the end of a random song in jazz band and play it. It's so fun.

The screech...I just felt like doing it at the momo.

I like major scales, too.
They're sweet and simple and pretty.

I went to a drum clinic type thing today and returned home with free stuff :)

In the morning there was a guy, who's name I already forget, who talked about brazilian rhythms, and gaining independance. Then after lunch, there was a presentation about the snare drum, rudiments, and timpani by the percussion teacher at the university. After that there was another guy who did a presentation on congas, and I got to come up and demonstrate stuff for everyone :). Then at the end of the day the university percussion ensemble put on a concert, which was very awesome.

Hooray for drum clinic type things :-D

we should have a test like that
match the kit with person
trick question who's kit is this?

Maggot Dream 04-08-2006 10:12 PM

I tend to associate people with their avatars first, then their style of typing, and maybe their kits.

And host your own pics man, it's so annoying when your photobucket account shuts down because someone made you go over bandwidth.

Hey Guys. My day was not too bad until I saw this movie with my mom. It was about Romes occupation of Libya called "Lion of the Desert". Very old movie. It pretty much ruined my night. I'm sitting here talking to you instead of watching it.

I've seen your grusome/bloody war movies. Lord Of War, Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down, Full Metal Jacket. But this was absolutely intolerable. There was a part when the Romans advance and they run over a Libyan and you seem him being squashed, and how they run over the women and children in the town.

Currently there is a women crying and it's the most depressing thing really. Jus t the slaughetring of innocent people. They line up their captures and they shoot them while a person takes photographs. I can't belive it.

Felt like sharing, because for some reason, this has been the most horrifying movie I have EVER scene.

sweet_nothings 04-08-2006 10:33 PM

No, put the stalker back on, its more exciting.

Question: what exactly does it mean when people type / then something? I see it yet don't understand it.

Mmm sounds like blood curdeling fun.

Can blood curdle? I think it can, and I think I've seen it happen. I can't be too sure though, but it make icicle type things off the side of the platform.

I don't know.

But I was trying to think of how to spell seen. Thank you.

I hate really gory movies unless they're meant to be funny.

Oh, I think you're talking about drama practice. It went a little bit better yesterday. I seemed to be able to hear the actors singing better and it seemed like we could play a little bit louder, but still very quiet. I've learned to amuse myself by playing around with cymbal sounds though. Since you can hear everything because of the acoustics of the venue, I just experiment with hitting the cymbals in different places and creating more interesting textures. So I'm not quite as bitter about having to be very quiet anymore.
