Yes, they are crunchy. Try it with balsamic vinegar if you have any. Let me know how it goes because I only came up with that idea spontaneously.
I won't be in the position to have balsamic vinegar on hand. edit - maybe I'll just find somewhere to boil them....if they are going to taste so horrible. |
Well you may as well try it. They might just taste really good to you.

Put salt on um, I think it makes them taste like 20x better.
I've done it before. Be warned that they don't taste that great.
I've been meaning to ask you something, but I can never hunt you down. Hopefully you stick around and answer. I was over at The Red Paintings' site trying to find lyrics for the Walls EP, and I was reading up on their bio (because I was shocked to read that Walls EP was a mid-to-high numbered release from them). Is it true that they have parrots and other animals onstage when they perform? What is the stage like to begin with? And how do they sound live? Thanks for taking the time (if you see this, that is).
They have animals, and paintings creating modern art, and strange and wonderful costumes. |

Ummm.. no parrots or any other animals to my knowledge... they have a lot of toys and figurines set up around the place, sitting on amps etc, they even have a big alien and a virgin mary statue. They usually have a projector with strange videos as well, but they didn't the other night. At some shows they make special backdrops for whatever theme they feel like doing, but that's rare. Their live sound... they like to get loud, the string section is usually controlled as they are classically trained and more perfectionistic. They singer/guitarist is the opposite, he gets really animated and expressionful, but then he's too "indie" and raw to sound like he does on cd. Drums and bass.. don't get noticed much by me, the previous drummer was pretty good though. Oh yeah, there's a couple of people to paint on canvas/eachother while the band plays. It's usually creepy things they do. |

If studying abroad to Australia becomes an option, I'll try to put that on my iterary, heh. Thanks again. |

Funny thing... we listened to the same amount of ATD-I, but mine was a little higher. :)
I'm giving a listen to Judas Priest's "Demonizer" of their album "Angel of retribution". Can anyone tell me if this is worth the buying, and what other Judas Priest I should get? I have some stuff, but I want to buy an album... maybe two. Thanks. :) P.S. Painkiller is out of question, I'll be getting that when I spot it. |
screaming for vengeance is a classic. i would recommend that. british steel as well. i havent heard much about angel of retribution.
|
This is off topic, but is anybody here really good at chemistry?
|
I much like British Steel.
|
This is off topic, but is anybody here really good at chemistry?
Fairly, depends, what grade are you in? You have a question or something? or you just curious? |
This is off topic, but is anybody here really good at chemistry?
I'm sure Dr. Jake is. I was good at chemistry, but that was awhile ago since I last took it :-\ |
This is off topic, but is anybody here really good at chemistry?
I'm taking Chem right now, high school, so chances are you're around the same level as me. |
This is off topic, but is anybody here really good at chemistry?
I got high 90's last year, but I'm only in grade 10. Specifics? |
I'm grade 11.
Mostly just curious, but I may have specific questions in a little bit. Is anybody good at identifying spectator ions in molecular equations and rewriting them as net ionic equations? My grade in that class is horrible and I desperately need to do well on this. |
My roommate is a chem major; if anything, he could help you out.
However, we're both burning the candle at both ends right now since we're operating on a combined four hours of sleep after the wild party my other roommate threw with his psycho friends. |

We take reaction prediction quizzes every Friday, so I'm decent at them by now. |

My chem teacher is satan (with the beard and all) but I really get his class. |
Post it.
FeCl2 + AgNO3 --> FeNO3 + AgCl2 The numbers at the ends are subscripts. I just need to identify the spectator ions in this reaction and rewrite it as a net ionic equation. Damn, my chem teacher sucks. :( |
I could post the solubility rules if you want to try it yourself, but yeah, just post them or something.
Spectators- Cl2(Most Chlorides are soluble), NO3(Most Nitrates are soluble) Fe(2+) + Ag(?) --> Fe + Ag I think this is what you need. I can't think ionization state of Silver off the top of my head. It's a positive number, though. (Metal++) http://www.csudh.edu/oliver/chemdata/solrules.htm That site has a good set of solubility rules. |
Are there supposed to be semi-reactions, and you have to know how many ions are going to be exchanged?
Probably this was a long shot. :confuz'd: |
Oh ****, I think I messed up on the reaction. It should yield Fe(NO3)2.
I think. :( |
Haha, I'm asking my roommate now.
EDIT: dude, get the problem right, or else he'll go ballistic. |
I'm trying, but I'm not sure. That's my problem.
All I know for sure right now is that the equation is: FeCl2 + AgNO3 |
It shouldn't matter. Nitrates are almost always soluble, so it doesn't matter how many there are, they still won't react with anything.
I may be way off. If it's a redox problem, I'm effed. :p |
My roommate said the following:
"Yeah, what that guy [pointing to Dr. Jake's post] has is right." So, go with that, I guess? I'm not going to bug him to explain it. |
****, I need to write in the solubility for each substance too. :(
Oh well. I'll give it my best shot. Luckily I have the solubility rules written down. Damn, I had something different from Jake. I'll change it. Thanls for the solubility. Silver is Ag(+). |

Er, I asked him to take a look.
Is this year's roommate at all like last year's?
Not even fucking remotely close. Complete opposite ends of the spectrum. |
He's a black guy?
/// SF- Glad I could be of help. :) Silver is only +? Hmph, metals confuse me sometimes. :p |
Oh man, now I'm stuck on CuSO4 + AgNO3.
Why did I put this off so long... |
