Old stuff is awesome... try Nightmares too. New album is pretty good.

TomTheOverlord 08-05-2009 10:21 PM

i still havent heard the new album.
nightmares is my favorite album.
i dont like the vocals on ruin anwhere near as much

Si1v3RfaNg 08-05-2009 10:22 PM

You'll porbably hate the new one then... the vocalist blew out his voice. Or is just screaming shitty now... it's really throaty vocals now.

iamtherobots 08-05-2009 10:23 PM

The vocals on Ruin are absurd.

TomTheOverlord 08-05-2009 10:23 PM

i still liked both cds
the first just owned the second

cvlts 08-05-2009 10:30 PM

so ruin is good?

iamtherobots 08-05-2009 10:48 PM

Ruin is badass. Vocals sound like a better version of Spencer from Underoath (that's saying A LOT).

not at all.
spencer owns this dude

iamtherobots 08-05-2009 11:06 PM

False.

TomTheOverlord 08-05-2009 11:09 PM

spencer has way more range, mi amigo.

Against Miik! 08-05-2009 11:10 PM

Honestly, as much as I love Underoath, I don't think Spencer is anything special. I think the way his vocals mesh with Aarons is what makes them awesome, from a vocal perspective.

iamtherobots 08-05-2009 11:14 PM

Spencer's vocals in This Runs Through are incredible. His vocals when he first joined Underoath were pretty absurd, he sounded like he could be in a band like Daughters or Destroyer Destroyer or some ****. He has a very very powerful mid range though. Mids are by far the most difficult technique to get down.
spencer has way more range, mi amigo.
Spencer's high range was pretty blown out by the time they recorded DTGL. I've found the vocals on Ruin and that album to be somewhat similar in style, however I definitely digged Sam's use of highs on that album a lot, where Spencer's are good on DTGL, they're not as good idk.

Against Miik! 08-05-2009 11:19 PM

I think Matt was way better on Nightmares js

Jaundice 08-05-2009 11:20 PM

whats the difference between Underoath and Unearth, I always 4get.

iamtherobots 08-05-2009 11:20 PM

I wholeheartedly disagree. Matt's vocals sound mad weak.
whats the difference between Underoath and Unearth, I always 4get.
Unearth is more on the metal side of metalcore (solos) and Underoath is more on the core side.

I dunno Nightmares if my favorite Architects album (overall) so maybe I'm biased.

Underoath is post hardcore/experimental.

Unearth is metal.
