lol i read that earlier
Sounds like what Alexisonfire did, got pretty popular in Can and UK and had to sell out hard to really crack the US market.
unfortunately

sam carter despite his amazing vocal performance on Ruin did help to end the credibility of the band, I have a feeling I'll hate the new album.

xMalcolmXx 11-08-2010 03:04 PM

the new songs didnt sound that bad, but things usually sound better live so idk

2muchket! 11-08-2010 03:29 PM

it's very meh

the fanbase they have now largely is very much into the hollow crown stuff, when I saw them recently the response for To the Death and Buried At Sea wasn't exactly amazing.

xMalcolmXx 11-08-2010 04:15 PM

they didn't even play those last night = me standing arms crossed whole time

MalleusMaleficarum 11-08-2010 04:23 PM

lol

witchxrapist 11-08-2010 04:36 PM

The played To The Death when I saw them, and then all Hollow Crown songs, they were awesome though.

I was disappoint though.

actual critiques would be loved

Spec 11-08-2010 06:09 PM

I'll still give the album a chance. It's sure to be something new.

botb 11-09-2010 11:37 AM

Sam basically ruined Architects after Ruin.

witchxrapist 11-09-2010 12:22 PM

yeah he writes all of the music

botb 11-09-2010 12:23 PM

hollow crown was still good imo but... yeah ruin and nightmares are better.

Blazey 11-09-2010 12:23 PM

No, but he was like, "hey guys lets start playing lame music to appeal to all those god damn fags out there."

God dammit.

witchxrapist 11-09-2010 12:24 PM

their guitarist said he wanted to change their style and play "melodic hardcore" because technical metal gets boring and he doesnt want to pretend his in dillinger anymore

botb 11-09-2010 12:27 PM

too bad what i've heard isn't remotely melodic hardcore haha

Blazey 11-09-2010 12:28 PM

Dillinger would lol at that comment. Nightmares was kinda dillingery but much more botchy, and Ruin was even further away from both. Their guitarist is a faggot, who wants to grab all those american, absolute press-loving sceneters.

MalleusMaleficarum 11-09-2010 12:28 PM

i dont want to pretend im in dillinger

i dont want to sound like a good band

i want to sound like shit

Pete 11-09-2010 12:29 PM

melodic hardcore is where it's at though

crossbearer was pretty good yo

Blazey 11-09-2010 12:30 PM

Money-wise.

witchxrapist 11-09-2010 12:32 PM

I want to see your wolf dick.

botb 11-09-2010 12:32 PM

nah melodic hardcore fucking rules. but it has to be legitimate melodic hardcore and not some bad attempt at it with more metal than hardcore like the newest architects sounds like

Pete 11-09-2010 12:34 PM

just for clarification, i have never listened to architects, i was just stating that melodic hardcore rewls

botb 11-09-2010 12:35 PM

petey listen to ruin and nightmares they rule

but yeah melodic hardcore is my shit

Pete 11-09-2010 12:38 PM

fiiiine i'll do it this afternooooooon...!

witchxrapist 11-09-2010 12:42 PM

ruin dude

the vocals onthat album are like

DAD

MalleusMaleficarum 11-09-2010 12:46 PM

Nightmares is way better but yeah

witchxrapist 11-09-2010 12:48 PM

I like Ruin more.

Juddybear 11-09-2010 01:38 PM

what the fuck do architects have to do with melodic hardcore?

2muchket! 11-09-2010 01:50 PM

nofink really

Ruin is marginally better than nightmares.
