Teenage Cool Kids - Queer Salutations

very pavement/weezer like, just more aggressive.

YDload 01-23-2008 04:09 PM

Polvo is like that too (also with more Sonic Youth-like guitar dissonance)

I just clicked back and forth between Meat Puppets' "Plateau" and Sonic Youth's "Death Valley '69" because they both start with drumstick clacks. and they were adjacent to each other in my shuffle. im dumb.

pixiesfanyo 01-23-2008 04:30 PM

der's nothing on top
but a bucket and a mop!

1st time listening. So far it's really good.
Better than self-titled? If you've heard that.

perriwinkle 01-23-2008 05:35 PM

yes its better than self titled

Thanks 01-23-2008 05:37 PM

I'll second that.

SPIKES
TO YOU!

Anxious 01-23-2008 06:45 PM

Their self titled and Yank Crime are both excellent, but Yank Crime pulls ahead because of the better production and "Sinews".

Unwound- Leaves Turn Inside You

poopie 01-23-2008 07:02 PM

i think my favorite on self titled is If It Kills You

pixiesfanyo 01-23-2008 07:26 PM

Cursed - III

Dies Irae 01-23-2008 07:31 PM

Anxious 01-23-2008 07:39 PM

I was about to say that.

pixiesfanyo 01-23-2008 08:13 PM

i didn't really dig on the first one. this one seems a lot better.

Against Miik! 01-23-2008 08:38 PM

So I picked up the album Broom by the band Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin. Really the name just caught my eye, but I figured it would be stupid because a lot of alt/indie is. But there really isn't a crappy track on the album. Nothing groundbreaking, but I kinda like it.

YourBiggestFan 01-23-2008 10:51 PM

yeah most alt/indie does suck man.

I've been liking some evangelicals.

perriwinkle 01-23-2008 11:56 PM

antelope - reflector

I got burnt out on it after thinking it was ****ing brilliant for about a month and never really got back into them.

Neon Bible was alright, but not much more than that. I do have a huge soft spot for No Cars Go, however.

cbmartinez 01-24-2008 01:07 AM

neon bible is sweet, i like black wave, neon bible, intervention, keep the car running alot but overall funeral is way better

Glitterati 01-24-2008 06:09 AM

The Beatles - Revolver - Haven't listened to much music since I went back to my girlfriend's cos I don't have a pc with any of my stuff on and my Ipod is playing up. I'm back at my mum's place for my birthday though so I'll be going through my music library on my pc over the next few days no doubt.

Kage 01-24-2008 12:04 PM

I'm into Silver Mount Zion's new album right now.

Coming down off a hard Velvet Underground kick as well.

Interstate 01-24-2008 12:23 PM

Idaho - Three Sheets To The Wind

Also been listening to this album from a bunch of Daoist monks, typical relaxing slow tempo chinese music. Very good to relax to. I've been a bit of a mess today because it was two years ago today since my dad passed away but this has relaxed me alot.

Anxious 01-24-2008 12:24 PM

Lichens- The Psychic Nature of Being
